Deal details first…

€139.53 includes the global shipping, the AUD estimate was obtained by using https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/get-support/conver… for those with int'l fee-free cards. Otherwise, Amazon will happily take AU$215.24 instead. I am not sure how long this price will last.

Samsonite generally has 5 years global warranty.

Some information of uncertain importance:
AU RRP $599.00 (LOL-cry)
(General street price is more like $359 normally without real discount)

UK RRP £179.00 (~AU$320 with market forex rate)

DE RRP €199.00 (~AU$300 with market forex rate)

(I am uncertain if they are generally sold at RRP, but camelcamelcamel suggests no)

…and the unimportant background that you may skip lol:

I was searching specifically for the S'cure (or a suitcase of the zipperless category) and felt disappointed at how I missed the 20% myer ebay sale, and then further discouraged by how expensive the Samsonites are in the Asia Pacific region. Further searching revealed that Samsonite has global warranty, hence I looked up the global sellers (yup the first place I checked was amazon/camelcamelcamel, and I am very curious at how they'll influence the market when they officially open locally).

Now I don't know how decent the global warranty is, but then considering all the Samsonites which my relatives and friends own likely have came from overseas, it doesn't concern me too much (especially the suitcases are still going strong).

I actually didn't get the black colour, but it is what I posted as it is the cheapest option. Other colours and sizes seem to be doing a very good price as well.

Also, for those wanting to shell out some more $$$ for a Lite-Locked, The Metallic Green 75cm is €306.01 (~AU$472, incl delivery) on back order, with other sizes and colour at various availability. The 75cm-size no longer has discounts, but the 81cm White, and Red colours still do, at €302.27 (~AU$450,
AU RRP$ 1099, DE RRP €426.99), and its camelcamelcamel.

  • How much they are when:

"missed the 20% myer ebay sale"?

    • +1

Forget any Australian prices - we get ripped off even at 50% off.

    • It was 20% off the Myer's "discounted" price (i.e. general daily street price) of $359.40 (still current), so $287.52

So eventually 'missing' it didn't lead to upset but found a good deal, and got a colour that isn't available in Australia.

and yea, Australian prices…insert the same LOL-cry I had above

  • Can you use this to relieve stress?

  • +1

Bought two of these from the Myer's BYGO for $250 each. So this is a good price.

Comes in two colors only: Black and Blue.

If these are coming from Germany, then they will have a tag which states "Made in EU" instead of "Made in Asia".

    • Weight: 4.6kg

Samsonite octolite 75cm during eBay sale was less than $200 and weighed 4 kgs

  • I stick with matte colours because I feel metallic are likely to show marks more readily. After about 60 rt plane trips and cruises, my matte samsonite has some areas where a laminate type material is ready to start peeling. I have to think that anything shiny would be worse.

  • These are a great suitcase, I purchased two from the previous deluxe deal and they are really well built and easy to travel with.

The brick red colour is great as we've never seen the same colour on other suitcases.

    • +1

Yep, agree. Ours has been around, and it's still in very good condition.
Contrary to cheap suitcases, the wheels swivel easily even when full, making it easy to manouvre.

      • Ours has been around, and it's still in very good condition.

Ours still look like new with very few marks on them.

Contrary to cheap suitcases, the wheels swivel easily even when full, making it easy to manouvre.

Our bags weigh over 20kg a week or two into our trips and they continue getting heavier and no matter how many cobblestones or other surfaces we throw at them they keep on going. The four wheels roll smoothly once you're back on smooth surfaces.

Thanks again for posting that previous deal, not only are the bags great so is the colour! Never seen another bag the same colour so it's easy to find our bags.

        • No worries. Yes, makes the pickup at the conveyor belt so much easier :)

  • Any experience with these cases cracking?

I have previously owned a Samsonite polycarbonate case which cracked at random corners, like a fragile Italian pistachio biscuit. And this wasn't even at the airport with rough baggage handlers. But using as a storage capsule.

  • i really like Lite-Locked, saw the ad where people step on them and didnt make a dent

  • Awesome price for an awesome suitcase. What's great about the S'cure is that it has a rubber seal around the edge making it somewhat waterproof. No need to worry about wheeling your suitcase down the steet in rain unlike other hardcases with zips or normal softcases.

    • What's great about the S'cure is that it has a rubber seal around the edge making it somewhat waterproof.

Same if someone else's bag leaks in the luggage hold, with this bag everything is protected.

      • Actually, the thing to worry about most is when your luggage is taken out of the plane during a heavy downpour, like in Singapore. The baggage trolleys are often open, en when your suitcase is subjected to a monsoon, you'll be happy if it is watertight.

  • Seems heavy at 4.6kg?

This deal is 2.5kg for same size but double price almost.

    • Seems heavy at 4.6kg?

True but do you want a suitcase that protects the contents, is durable and reliable or ???

  • Can anyone please tell me, who does Amazon de use for shipping within Australia?

    • The one I've bought was actually channelled from Amazon Italy, and the initial courier was UPS. AusPost has no record of the tracking number I got, and the tracking was done via UPS itself, so I assume it was delivered by UPS (but I can't be sure as I didn't sign for it myself).

      • Ok thanks

  • Can't seem to get your price:
