    who's ?

    • Earth

      • Look now, look all around, there's no sign of life

        • +1

That should be the motto to the forums 😂

    • I'm with jv, who is?

This shouldn't be downvoted. It's the question everyone should ask when buying these "lifetime" offers. You don't know when the company will:
      - Fold
      - Get acquired
      - Change their policies

      • +2

Agreed, upvoted JV's Q to get score back to neutral.

    • 2117 to be precise ! ( I subscribed yesterday )

Another Ponzi scheme, excellent, they always end well!

    • That is incorrect: Not Ponzi Scheme, Referrer does not gain money.

difference between him and this deal:

he is competitive and versatile, while this deal is a scam

    • Why tuzzii? May very well be true but "why?"

  • A more reputable cloud storage platform here:
    https://aws.amazon.com/s3/pricing/
Using their calculator, 2TB of 'cold HDD'(?) storage in Sydney is US$60/month

That's pretty reasonable. For just 100GB of 'magnetic' off-site backup, that is just US$5.60/month. US$11.90 to transfer 100GB of data out to the internet.

For 10 years, that is 120 payments, or US$0.50 / month. (If sticking to the $60 Budget)
You can store 40GB and retrieve 15GB/month for US$0.40 / month

    • +1

AWS is pretty secure and reliable, but for home users unless your data is absolutely crucial I think 60 USD/month is more than too much…

      • You can get office 365 with a terabyte of storage and add up to 4 others for $12 per month

  • 2TB is a bit excessive. Look people, the internets not just a big truck that you dump something on

    • +1

For a photographer or video producer/processor, not excessive at all. Having the bandwidth to upload that quantity in a reasonable timeframe in this government endorsed backwater is another matter.

    • Ever tried a RAW file recovery on a half full 1TB hard drive of pictures, and then try to sort out FILE00000001.jpg, FILE00000002.JPG, …..

Degoo allows NAS server to be backed up too. So this is how it goes: Phone —> Personal NAS —> Degoo. + Photobooks.

This is not a deal, lifetime subscriptions are fake.

If you want alternatives with unlimited storage

    Crashplan ($70 a year)
Amazon Cloud Storage ($100 a year)
    Gsuite (Google) ($120 a year)

All of them a real unlimited storage, I would know, I have 45TB in each one.

    • Was gonna sign up to the gsuite but after reading the terms and less than 5 users only permits 1tb. Am I missing something?

      • -1

They say that but everywhere else its unlimited and they seem fine with it.

Obviously they could change their mind but a lot of people are using it with 1 user and use more then 1TB.

    • Triple protection? Three times the same backed up? Why would you otherwise store on 3 different clouds if they are unlimited?

      • -1

Triple protection and also the fact that I can only get 50mbit or so download speeds, two services means 100mbit download speeds to recover data.

  • +4

Fake. Get a bunch of customers in big tidal wave of cash then either close up shop or sell up to another provider.
    Lifetime offers are pointless.

    • First review somewhere in 2014. So this is not just a pop up stand.

      • Yeah but when they go to free for life model they usually go belly up not long after.

        • Did you make that experience? Any examples you could provide to support your statement?

        • @cameldownunder: ive had a few over the years personally. Last one was a hosting for $5 year which lasted a year then sold themselves off to someone else when they failed the new owner cancelled all the plans.
