Dan murphys monthly deals have gone up in volume (53 this month) and way down in quality, but the mornington Lager is pretty good for $12. The Asahi and Heineken are basically just 6 packs at carton prices, but cheap enough if you only need a 6.
Dan Murphy's Members' May Deals: Mornington Lager 6pk $12, Asahi Soukai 6pk $10, Heineken 6pk $12

I like the Mornington brown …..Wonder what the normal lager is like.
Like any other lager.
Mornington Lager is rated in the 29th lowest percentile compared to all beers.
Better than macro lagers but still nothing special. They probably just made a basic lager to please the masses.

All the beer deals this month are terrible, especially Woolies homebrands John Boston and Steersman, and the Asahi Soukai is bland swill.
Asahi cans and Heineken are also disappointing after we had Mountain Goat (full range) in March and Feral Sly Fox cans last month.
So much for getting excited at the May offer email being renamed to "New Aussie Craft Beer member offers". Mornington is the only craft brewery out of the lot and their Lager is still just an ordinary lager. Will be waiting for next month.
Nothing wrong with Japanese brewed Asahi, it's pretty damn nice actually.
I'd probably take those over any mountain goat or sly fox….. Hop Hog would be another story.Even over Mountain Goat Fancy Pants?
Looks like I'll be getting some Fancy Pants tonight, I'll come back to you. Any excuse for a drink!
@OneMoreTune: It has a hop presence so try getting a can with expiry in 2018 if possible.
92% Rate Beer score and ranked in the top 50 amber ales. Asahi owns Mountain Goat but I can't fault this beer. https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/mountain-goat-fancy-pants-ambe…
A review summing it up is "Copper with a medium white head, lot of lacing. Aroma is quite malty, with ripe fruits and hops. Sweet an malty, lot of caramel, spices and a good hoppy balance (unusual for this style), which adds some tropical fruits and hints of citrus. Creamy and full bodied, easy to drink, very tasty. Pretty damn good!"
Yeah, given that Dan murphys are the main sponsors of GABS this year you think they'd make more of an effort..
Yeah, poor from from Dan Murphy's. They're just pushing their high margin homebrands and probably got a quantity discount for Asahi Soukai and Heineken.
Btw the Heineken in the title should be $12.
really weak showing on this month :(
do some 4pines or something!! come on danny
Ugh, locally brewed henieken
