Use voucher code ANNIVERSARY20 for the $20 discount.

The cashback promotion is here

Edit: GC7035 appears out of stock, however Philips GC7031 is also available for the same price thanks ozzyoi.

  • What's the difference vs my regular iron that has steam options? I'm doing a quick google - but any clear benefits?

    • Steam. Like lots of never ending steam. It's amazing. I have an older philips iron with a separate water tank and I'd never go back. You can even steam garments on a hanger with the one I have.

For $100 you'd be nuts to pass it over if you have to do any serious amount of ironing.

(that's assuming this is a good model)

      • +10

Cool, bought one for the wife. Hopefully she gets my ironing done quicker this time =p

        • +10

You should give her the address of this site too, as you'll not have time to tell her after giving her the iron.

        • +3

@banana365: She will probably steam his dumplings.

    • +1

      In one sentence…
      "Much easier to use."

    • Also, the biggest benefit with these irons.. There is no fiddling with settings. Doesn't matter if it is silk, cotton, Linen.. There is just one mode! Love it.

  • Found Amazon UK has a lot of happy reviewers for this product:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B015XYYT04/ref=cm_c…

    • +7

They are all happy because they got it for free….

      • Oh… well that is awkward.
        Didnt even see that

      • Didn't get it. Sorry, why did they get it for free?

        • Under the names of most of the reviewers it says 'Vine Customer Review of Free Product'

  • Got one :). Cheers, OP!

  • Good post OP. I wish this was cordless

Good post OP. I wish this was cordless

I think you're missing the part about how this iron works.

      • hehe, sorry my bad.

        • hehe, sorry my bad.

I love my cordless iron because I only iron a shirt at a time but have always wanted one of these steam generators but I'd have to iron all my shirts at once because of the setup time….

        • @Maverick-au: which one do you have currently? I am looking for a good cordless one.

        • +1

which one do you have currently? I am looking for a good cordless one.

Had a Philips from 1998 to about three years ago when I picked up a Tefal deal from here for around $100. It's been great so far with no problems.

The Philips was also good and I keep it as a spare. The Philips can be used corded as well.

          Both made in France.

Edit: model is Tefal Free Move Cordless Iron FV9920

        • @Maverick-au: Thanks mate.

      • +2

Cordless steam would be a killer feature though…

    • no cash back on 7710. what's the difference between 7035 and 7031? just the base color?

      • 7310 is only slightly less powerful (steam-wise) from what I can see on quick glance at the specs.

    • Thanks, I bought the 7031 last night from your link after just missing out on the deal in the OP.

The deal should be edited so that it goes to your link instead of the one that's been expired for the last half day, as it's only a fraction less powerful but pretty much still the same device.

      • +5

Yeah thanks OP and c0balt, the only difference seems to be 4.8 bar instead of 5 bar but otherwise identical (both 7035 & 7031 will do vertical steaming), and 7031 is eligible for $50 cashback while the 7710 is not. Its never been a more exciting time to be an ironer.

        • +2

Awesome, I've never been an ironer before but glad to hear I jumped on during the most excited ironing times!

I'm about to leave to go pick it up, I just need to figure out what type of ironing board would suit me best. What a time to be alive :)

  • I couldn't see the cashback for the second link (7710).

Fyi everyone else if you do miss this deal harvey norman $149

      • However JB works out to be 139, or add 6.95 for delivery in my case.

TBH, I'm not biting for the extra 30 bucks, 109 was a deal but I still haven't used my $9 Braun Iron from a previous deal.

  • Darn it!!! Forgot to use cashrewards missed out on 1.30% cash back hahhaa

  • Out of stock

  • I just bought the 7031 version. Been meaning to get one of these continuous steam stations for years.
    Thanks OP.

This one is $20 more but you get extra 0.5L extra water tank and 0.5 extra bar pressure (more steam). Also has detachable water tank so you don't need to unplug whole system to carry to the faucet. And it has steam on demand (vertical steaming clothes on hanger). All worth the extra $20.

    https://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/ProductDisplay?urlReque…

    • yes, BUT the 7710 doesn't come with the $50 cash back from Phillips :(

    • Um,isn't that what plastic jugs are for? So you mustn't carry the device to the tap….

I've been looking at these for years but I try to buy iron free shirts and I have quite a few shirts(which still need a bit of a once over) and I manage to get away with only ironing about 6 times a year, problem is when I iron it's a 2 hour job.
Still not sure if i can justify the cost.

      • No one's gonna marry you if you don't have an iron. Any if the jug is 2L then yes that works. I use my kettle I just remembered

  • Out of stock.

  • Awesome! Just in time for mothers day

Got one last time at about $120 in the previous deal.

Best thing I've bought this year.

  • ozbargain, making me poorer by the month

ps: am i the only one who was mad confused as to how you could iron a shirt with such a huge thing? until i googled it and realized that the top part separated and the blue part was just the water base!

    • Blue part also generates the steam. Pushes it through the cord.

  • +1

    Picking mine up today.

I'm 30 and never owned an iron. I have so few things that I wear that I need to iron, and I would just hand iron out the creases from the washer and hang them quickly. I was fine with doing that for 10+ years of doing my own laundry.

But my partner moved in a while back and she's been putting up with creased dresses too long. I told her a while back I would get a good one when it pops up on OZB and thanks to the O.P. I think it has. I always wanted one with a separate tank because it looks cool.

Anyone got a recommendation for an ironing board? I would like one that I can vertical iron on if possible and as cheap as possible.

    • Get a stable one but not too heavy. Hauling a heavy one in and out of the cupboard is a PITA.

      • Thanks. I'm just about settled on a tabletop one from Kmart for $15.

        http://www.kmart.com.au/product/table-top-ironing-board/9454…

        • +1

Think about where the power outlets are for the iron and what table top you intend to put it on. This thing looks like it would "mark" so you need to think about putting something non slip under it. The other thing to keep in mind is to make sure you don't have any pictures above where you will be using the iron. The steam will cause problems to them.

        • @try2bhelpful:

Thanks. I intend on using it on a $40 fantastic furniture coffee table. I picked up some rubber non-slip feet when I got it. However Kmart ran out of theirs and I had to get one at Big W that was $20. The rubber feet on it work surprisingly well. I might return the extra ones I picked up.

I like the idea of sitting on the couch and watching TV as I or the partner take turning ironing over the coffee table as we get through some TV watching.

        • @c0balt: Don't think that will work, but nothing ventured nothing gained. I think you will find the actions associated with ironing aren't compatible with coffee tables, you really need something a bit taller. Will be interested to hear the outcome.

    • These things produce a lot of steam. Rather than a solid table it might be better to have a mesh frame ironing board that lets the steam pass through.

  • Bought the 7031 for $109.seems reasonable, and still stock

    • +1

name checks out - but I would have figured you as the "using a dry cleaner a fair bit" kind

  • I bought the Delonghi one posted on Ozbargain the last time, for $149… would have bought this one as they look quite similar in specs.

  • anyone know how long the cashback takes to be received back into account?

  • i'm so tempted, but judging by the reviews online you can expect the 7301 to stop working after 2 years

  • +1

I'm wondering how much actual ironing people do nowdays. I iron my work shirts, and sometimes my cargo pants, but that is about it. My mother, god bless her, used to iron lots of things, including the bed sheets. Now she could've done with this iron.

  • Which is better? This or the GC7710? I compared the specs but I'm still not sure.

  • Since GC7035 is out of stock, i bought GC7031 which has almost similar features (check link below for comparison) and same price (cash back applies to it):

    http://www.philips.com.au/etc/philips/b2c/compareproducts.ht…

    • I'm getting out of stock for the 7031 as well…also the 7710…all are out of stock :(

  • Just bought GC7031, thanks OP

  • Hi everyone, I'm still new to ozbargain. Sorry what does OP mean?
Thanks for the post OP, I've just bought the 7031. Had a look at the reviews, seems like many people had issues with the lifespan of this machine. Generally stopped working around 2.5 years. But for ~40$ year cost wise is not too bad. Comes with 2 year warranty

    • +1

      Sorry what does OP mean?

OP = Original Poster. i.e. the person who posted the deal, started a thread etc.

Thanks for the clarification montorola. Much appreciated

        • No worries, and welcome to OzBargain!

May the cheapness be with you =)

  • Just ordered the 7031 Thanks OP.

    Both GC7031 vs GC7035
    1.6m hose
    2m heat up time
    1.8m power cord length
    refill at any time
    hose storage
    120g/m steam output
    2400w power
    turbo steam
    variable steam settings
    vertical steaming
    energy savings
dimensions and weight (4.1kg including base, iron is 1.24kg) exactly the same for both models
    2 year worldwide warranty

    Difference GC7031 vs GC7035
Pressure 4.7 vs 5 bar pump pressure
    Steam boost 190g vs 210g

    • The steam pressure and boost are listed as maximum/peak. Chances are they will be even closer in terms of power over a period of time.

I've got mine in a box right now. I'm waiting either for ozbarginers to chime in if it's worth it before opening it, or I might just open it and give it a go myself first as Myer should be pretty good with returns if it's not up to par.

  • I bought it to early hahaha, Didnt read post -_- will see if phillips still honour the mothers day special XD

  • no more stock :((

  • -2

Just wanted to understand .. Phillips cashback is only valid if I buy iron between 30 and 31 Apr rite??

If I buy it today, i wont qualify for 50$ cashback?

    • Crap I didn't realise this. I guess 159 ain't too bad. Well that's what I'll keep telling myself.

      • UnhappyPooPants? Be unhappy no longer, the promotion period is 2 months and extant, not 2 days and in the future.

        • Phew….. Yup so happy I might just…. Crap, time to change pants
