Best price you can get for the Philips Fidelio x2
the X2HR is coming out in Europe on May 4th which may affect the price, however it might be exclusive to Europe. Initial reports is that the X2HR just has better comfort on the cushions and headband

What other headphones do they compare to?
Most people compare these headphones to the sennheiser HD600 and HD650
they also compare them to the AKG K7xx series
This headphone has been rated better than the Audio Technica M50x but if you're upgrading it takes some time to notice it as the Fidelio X2 isn't as Bass heavy as the M50x
I'd compare these to the Philips SHP9500 as well. While they're a lot cheaper than the X2's, the general consensus is they're pretty much on par (slightly more neutral sounding), except for build quality. After reading lots of reviews on them I decided to buy a pair ($65 USD) and they are fantastic, most comfortable headphones I've worn.
They need an amp.
Most open phones benefit from amp. But if you must not using a amp, this phone is on top of the list.
Any issues with build quality e.g. the notorious QC issues?
No price increase just before sale.
Here's a little Ozb poem:
I got a pair
I didn't need a pair,
until I say this post, I didn't know I wanted a pair
ozb, what are you doing to me!
(what really sold the pair though was this zreview https://youtu.be/_y2ZZxcBZ88 )
tnx, this looks pretty good.
I have these headphones. Great pair (see reviews), particularly awesome because they don't need an amp.
