I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, a week ago (was delivered from Hong Kong). It showed some network earlier but now it doesn't show any network. I have changed sims as well but still problem. Absolutely no network.
Any suggestions friend.
I didn't find any Australian support centre for this phone.
Xiaomi - 'No Network' Problem
Comments
try this as well? scan for networks

I have tried both automatic and manual search. doesn't find any networks.
With manual, it doesn't even show any networks, as if none of the networks exist.
The sim I have in is Amaysim (optus network).
I have another phone which is running on vodafone. I have tried this sim in Xiaomi as well but no network.
Is it named "MIUI Updates" The 247Tech. I have installed the app but can't see any place there to download the miui patches
Download it from your settings
Go to about phone and down bottom you will see a updater and start downloadingThanks.
Shows "No updates available" - MIUI 8.0.6.0 Stable
edit: nevermind, re-read your post

Haven't tried it…. do so at own risk….
A very extensive work and that too with big risks…. It says phone may stop working completely
Well you phone isnt really working now is it.
No but I would try to return it.
@creative: If you return to the same seller and you get another phone, it will have the same custom-cooked ROM. Very risky to keep this ROM - spyware you have no idea about could be on there tracking your passwords and sending back your info.
What seller did you buy from?
I wouldnt bother as they will aend you out another one whoch could be of the same problem.
Id follow what the pthers are saying and get the bootloader unlocked and flash your rom from there.
Maybe you could try wiping cache data by rebooting to recovery mode in Updater.
The latest stable MIUI ROM for Redmi Note 3 is Version: V8.2.2.0.MHOMIDL
If your phone is on 8.0.6.0 and the updater is not finding the latest version then that means the seller you bought it from has put on their own custom ROM (using 8.0.6.0 as a base they have then made their own changes that you have no idea what they are). You must not keep the current ROM on your phone - there may be all sorts of spyware and bloatware included.
Your first step must be to download and install the official Xiaomi Global Stable ROM from em.miui.com (the link I gave above should be the right version but please double-check first). Then follow the instructions on that page to update the phone to the official ROM - I think you can do it via the Recovery method easiest.
Good luck :)
Global version

http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#439MediaTek version
http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#440Special Edition version
http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#449I tried what you suggested but the phone is not going to recovery mode. As I have been searching it suggests, bootloader is locked.
Bootloader being locked would not stop recovery mode being entered. Are you sure you are holding down the volume up button the whole time during booting?
If you can't get into recovery there are other ways to flash the official ROM. You can try the Updater app (bilt in to your phone if the seller hasn't removed it in their custom-cooked ROM they've given you). You can also flash the official ROM via Fastboot Mode. The Xiaomi website (both scrimshaw and myself linked to) give full instructions for each of these different methods. You just need to pick one (any one) and follow it to the letter of the law.
By the looks of it it is a common issue.

Run the MIUI updater app on your phone and download the latest MIUI patches.
after updating factory reset the phone by going into Settings and in the search box at the top, look for "Reset"
