    • Full metal 4100mAh battery

    What?!

    • +1

I get almost 8+ hours SOT with casual use on this one. It is a beast in battery performance!

      • +5

Unless I'm mistaken, I thinking he is 'what?'-ing at the 'full metal' part

        • +1

          Makes sense. My bad
I think the description missed a word
Full Metal Build, 4100mAh battery :P
Though it has some plastic at top and bottom

        • @jtrvk:

          Yeah, Halsmich was right :)

        • +1

@j4ck: my English wasn't right tho… I thinking he is???

        • @Halsmich:

          HAH! I missed that…

  • How will this do on vaya in Perth?

    • +1

Vaya uses Optus. I am using a Xiaomi Note 3 (non-special edition without band 28) and it works great. Getting 4G+, with around 50Mbps downstream on a quick speed test.

      • What about if you live further up the stream?

        • Not too sure, but no worse than any other Optus based provider.
If you live in the hills, I find coverage of Optus and Vodafone quite limited, and you are going to have to stick with Telstra (e.g. Aldi).

      • thanks for the reply, i actually had the Xiaomi Note 3 special edition. was a great phone until it dropped one too many times. so thats why im interested in this.

  • how to tell this is not fake one ?

Nextbuying all xiaomi smartphone support check on xiaomi PRODUCT AUTHENTICATION
      http://www.mi.com/verify/#secur_en

      • Can you tell before you purchase???
Or only once you have the handset in your hand?

        • get the phone , input S/N to xiaomi site verify it.

        • @tonyleee: So all a bit late then isn't it :(

  • is it worth upgrading from a note 3 pro to this one?

    • +3

      no

      • thanks! i bought the note 3 pro around 2 years ago so was seeing if this was an opportunity to upgrade! apparently not :D (its still going strong as well)

    • +2

note 3 pro snapdragon is superior. also this phone can be had for cheaper almost anywhere. gearbest are selling it at 170usd and theyve got down to 150 usd with a coupon code previously

      • I would not call it completely superior. But it is definitely not worth the upgrade from note 3 pro

  • There are 2 models of the note 4 now a Snapdragon that was released for India and MediaTek for china …..Question is which gets android 7 first ….

    • Both will get simultaneously as China also has SD version under the name Note 4X. In fact, the Nougat based developer MIUI build (beta) is already released by Xiaomi. But if you are planning to flash custom ROM, i would recommend SD version

    • The snapdragon 625 will get OTA here
also be carefull as the 4X has no 4G 900 for Telstra
the note 4 Global has band 900 for Telstra AFAIK

Buy a superior ZUK2 for the same coin, any deals on it seller? Go price is just under $200

    • Cheapest ZUK Z2 I have seen is $236
was down to $216 few weeks back on sales
also I believe no OTA updates to 7

      • +1

I know, my target is under AUS$200 mark, for mine that is what its worth to me.

        • +1

Bought the phone a few weeks ago and now have friends like you who are ready to buy it….. if the price is right….
          Come on down… Hi Larry..
          I will see myself out.

This is quite a nice phone, very well built I've had it for about a week now, for me it was an upgrade from a redmi note 2 (I needed something with two sims that both worked)

I can't say much about the ROM it came with, I installed twrp and an unofficial lineage os running 7.1.1, and it runs very nicely!

One thing I'm not a fan of though is it has dual led flash on the camera, so when you use it as a torch it gives a yellow hue, vs the redmi note 2, which projected a nice clean white torch light, quite a few phones now have these dual led camera flash, not sure of it can be fixed with an app…

    • How is battery life compared to stock MIUI?

      • +2

I can't really compare, I only had MIUI on it for a short time before I replaced it with lineage… the battery is doing really well with lineage, it's been going since 5am this morning with light usage, few text messages, a phone call and emails auto checking throughout, and has only dropped to 84% at 7pm this evening…

is SD625 meant to be better than 650? Because Note 3 had 650. And this is more expensive than a Note 3.

    • +1

Yeah it is. It's also on a different fabrication process. Meaning it runs on much less power, resulting in vastly improved battery life for the same level of performance you get with the 650

    • +2

650 is a bit more powerful, antutu score about 78,000 vs 60,000 for the 625. Battery life better on 625.

    Good stuff! Just Ordered!
Wife was looking for a new business phone, looks like good battery life :)

  • +1

Ordered one, it was a total of 245.94 aud, after I used the coupon code, delivery was 3.98 usd via auspost, on top of that.

  • +1

Is this not the same phone for $151 USD ~ $200 AUD (Only in grey or gold though)?

    • Longer shipping time too, but I'm wondering the same thing. Anyone have any idea?

  • :( has anyone's phone shipped yet.. I paid for express DHL too >.<

    • +1

      • have a good weekend :)

  • Sorry to ask, but is this a reliable re-seller, in regards to fake handset?
Very interested in the Xaiomi phones nowdays

Go the Snapdragon processor or is the Helio X20 10-core processor from Mediatek a better choice?
