wow I bought that from walgreens for about $20 USD

    • Same colour?

      • looks identical

        • where, when, how?

        • @defmay: I bought this device at walgreens (a US chain) for $20USD.

          Was January
          Was in San Francisco

And I walked into the store took it off the shelf and exchanged currency for the product. Then I walked out.

        • @unifex: Thank you for answering my questions so definitively

        • @defmay: Your welcome :)

Looks like someone else got a simliar deal from Sams (Walmarts version of CostCo)

  • Probably better off buying a ps vita.

    • Well, if you can find a brand new PS Vita for $79, let everyone know. And you can play all these old retro games on the PS Vita? Didn't know it had been cracked…

      • +2

        Only on 3.6 firmware

      • -2

Its worth spending more than 79 for the screen and the retro capabilities firmware 3.60

    • -2

Just get a second hand psp

      • +1

SNES and N64 emulation is garbage on PSP.

        • Snes emulation runs pretty well on my psp go

        • -1

          @flashi007:

No, it doesn't. Turn off frame skipping and try Yoshi Island.

        • @PainToad: well considering this is a post for a megadrive/genesis handheld let's just agree that a cheap psp would do the job. It's not a post for a portable snes or n64

        • @PainToad:

theres 5 games that dont run well - thats one of them.

          the rest are fine.

i clocked Donky kong 1,2 and 3 on my psp go using the save state option

Donky kong 2 and 3 are super difficult i might add

  • Lots of similar on eBay and cheaper eg. $40 delivered:

    • I had a look. Shame the screen is only 3. something inches. Might as well download an emulator on your phone

      • +1

I agree for both, Cotd one is only 3.2 inches, extra $47.95 for 0.2 inch.

    • Go for one of these, even better. Load of shit that they can do 64 bit games, but I've had no problem running Mega Drive and (most) SNES games on it. 5 inch screen and all. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5-0-inch-8G-Handheld-Retro-Game-C…

      • What's battery life like? Any major issues?

        • I've barely used it, but I got a solid 3 hours or so on full volume and brightness the couple times I really got into it. I was mostly playing Streets of Rage 2 and OutRun though, so just Genesis stuff, it does a whole bunch more though, and that stuff may be more draining.

Screen res is pretty shit though, I'd say it can't be anything better than a GBA SP's, but blown up 5 inches.

For the price though, it's pretty sweet, but for that price you could also pick up a PSP, which emulates all this and more, with much more success and it's also a PSP, one of the best portables you can buy.

But yeah dude, if you're thinking of grabbing one, it's pretty sweet. I got mine for 22 a year or so back, so just keep an eye out for a better price, this was just the first that came up when I went looking for it before.

        • @TheDukeOfNukem: Does it play N64 games? Could you test?

    • not the same product, it's a copy. Having said that the OP is ATGAMES and it's probably cheaply made too…

    • not the same product, it's a copy. Having said that the OP is ATGAMES and it's probably cheaply made too…

  • Is this an official Sega product?

  • +1

Not even legit. May as well install happychick.hk

  • Let's be real here. You're better off with a Bluetooth controller for yr phone.

    • that seems awkward for phone use?

  • I feel a bit dumb spending $70 deliverd even with the masterpass and checkout discounts. Really want to cancel my order now due to what everyone has been saying on the forum. ATGAMES that's okay I guess. Is there anyway I can cancel my order on COTD? Doesn't seem to be…

Either this is the ATGAMES or a complete copy of it for $40 delivered.

  • I got one of these for $19USD from Sam's Club online last year.

Overall it's okay - the graphics and emulation are pretty dead-on, but the sound quality (both internal speaker and through headphones) is weirdly distorted - it makes Sonic sounds like Hotline Miami.

The buttons are also a bit mushy, but the screen is clear… and hey it was less than $30 AUD.
