FREE Extras on Gourmet Creations Burgers @ McDonald's

710

Get extra jalapenos, beetroot, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onions and sauces on the new Gourmet Creations burgers at no additional cost.

Just use the self-order kiosk to add a Gourmet Creations burger. Then select 'Edit' and the burger again. Now add extra cheese, etc. Does not work with other burger types.

Update: Appears extra cheese is no longer free. Looks like it may have been a pricing error. All other free extras still work.

I have always been able to this. Isn't it just a normal thing and not new?

    • +12

McDonald's have only just released Gourmet Creations. All their previous burgers have not allowed 4 extra slices of cheese for free, including the CYOT burgers. They don't even advertise that you can customize these new burgers like CYOT, let alone add free cheese, which is why I posted this deal.

      • Ah, I see. I have always been able to add multiple cheese types to the make your own. I guess this is similar.

        • +2

Yeah it's similar but as I said the free customization isn't advertised this time. You also get more free cheese slices at a cheaper price. I think CYOT was only max 2 cheese slices @ $8.95, whereas with Gourmet Creations you can have up to 6 slices @ $8.25.

          @Ryballs:

For $8–10 for a Maccas burger; I'd expect a kg of cheese!

        • +6

@Scrooge McDuck: they're actually pretty good

        • @noodlesfordaddy:

I had the Angus Cheeseburger yesterday and the Chicken Caesar today; both were crap!

        • @Ryballs: Great! Now I can order 6 slices of cheese on its own :D

        • @steveclassy2: Whatever floats your boat I guess.. :P

      • I got an email from them saying you can customise with steps, so id say that's advertising to the email list

        • I meant in store..

    • Yes you have always been able to do this with the 'pre designed' CYT burgers.

      • I was not aware of this as I've only ever ordered the CYT from scratch. Appears CYT no longer exists now anyway. Looks like they've re-badged the premade CYT burgers as Gourmet Creations, stopped advertising/limited the customisation and lowered the price.

        • Is this actually true? I was just wondering the other day whether they still do the create your taste burgers at Maccas.

Wait, who cares about the cheese…Is the extra Bacon free?

    • +10

      Everyone cares about cheese.

      • +10

i have an addiction to cheese.. it's only mild though

        • +3

At least it's a tasty addiction

        • @puffinfresh:

Compared to others, it's a Briez.

        • +1

I love my 2 minute noodles with cheese…

  • How much $ do these start at?

    • +6

$8.25 for the Classic Angus with 6 slices of cheese (using above method).

  • +5

The price is already included in the cost of these burgers.

    • +10

That may be the case but still doesn't change the fact that most people would be unaware you can get 4 extra slices of cheese for free. This information at least helps people get their moneys worth. :)

    • +1

You can say the same about practically any deal which includes "free" extras.

These items are usually charged extra at McDonalds and the "Gourmet Creations" are actually priced more reasonably/similarly to regular menu items now compared to CYT.

  • +3

Upvoted because I consider 4 slices of cheese for 'free' a bargain

    • Thanks mate.

    • +1

      it's a cheesy bargain!

  • +1

shortly followed by subway's "free salad" items?!

    • +2

So you get extra cheese for free at subway too?

      • +2

No, but you get free salt and pepper and a free reusable footlong plastic bag which can you can use it anyway you like. :)

        • +1

          I hear you… lol

      • Is it 4 slices or 6 clices ?

        • The burger I used as an example has 2 slices of cheese. Using the above method gives you an extra 4. 2 slices + 4 slices = 6 slices of cheese.

  • +1

I think you mean 6"4" slices of American cheese

  • So I don't get it? Did they completely do away with CYT or not? I was pretty disappointing by the choices from GCB and lack of customisation but some in here are saying it is customisation?

    • CYT is completely gone. At my store anyway.

  • The real question is can OzBargainers order them to be 'on the side' so they can doggy bag and save them for the next meal?

  • Does this work as a meal deal?

    • Yes

  • So the "Natural Cheddar" is the orangey American cheese?

    • And no other cheese is better

    • This is actually informative. Why the negs? From Maccas employees? lol

      • You know you hit a nerve when people downvote without commenting lol.

  • Looks like I have found my lunch for tommorrow.

  • Only 4? I'll just have to bring some of my own from home :D

  • +1

My local store was $7.65 for Classic Angus.

For some reason the computer removed the Bun by default, and it's not obvious, so be careful about that to make sure you have a bun (on the screen it shows a faint bun until you add the Bun item then it becomes full coloured)

    • Added to the main post. Thanks for letting me know.

      • Maybe a warning about the Bun bug too :)

    Shame no more free cheese
