Ah, the winking emoji says it all!

    • People also get the next weeks catalogue in the mail a day or two in advance sometimes, Depending on where you live. Also most ALDI stores have the catalogues out the back for a day or two before they put them out Tuesday nights.

Don't touch the Android media player. Friend bought one last year and we had all sorts of trouble getting it working with videos having poor codec support out of the box, the 1GB ram constantly reloading and lagging. For $80 it's very overpriced and the control is crap, as others have said, eBay ones have much more bang for the buck and you'll probably get an airmouse thown in.

The 65 inch TV last year was very good for the price point. DISCLAIMER: I did some work with these indirectly with the supplier for another firm (http://www.cncoptronics.cn/) and CVT fixing a slew of bugs and the image quality which became the base software for the solution.

    Based off lasts years model:
Support 60p on all 4 inputs, commendable image with good sources
Media player plays internally at 1080p/i only but has commendable video format compatibility.
ARC can be finicky, get a good cable and decent receiver.
SD upscaling is blurry (however my Samsung's even worse) HD channels lood good
Works well as a 4K monitor on a PC (check the 4K enhancement setting if text is coloured)
Some occasional bugs with changing resolutions on the fly, resolved by resetting the input these might have be fixed now.
    Pretty average remote.

I might even spring myself one if they are the same, I'm very disappointed with my current Samsung (horrific judder)

Aldi Android Players are utter rubbish

Aldi TV, i bought a 1080p version 3 years ago, it lasted 10months and died (had lost receipt, so no warranty)
It was terrible pic quality anyway, and i sold it after 3 weeks. It died on the person i sold it too.

Not sure if things have changed, at least you get 60Days to make your mind up

  • I currently have a Soniq 65" 4K TV that only has HDMI 1.4 ports, therefore PS4 Pro would display UHD. Is it worth selling that and picking up this one? Does anyone have experience with PS4 Pro/other UHD devices with Bauhn TVs? How's the quality?

    • +1

It is UHD, but it does not support HDR. So the PS4 Pro isn't going to be very good.

If you want your PS4 Pro to shine then your need a display that is capable of HDR as well.

  • For those who are interested in this TV, also have a look at this Akai 65” 4k TV @ HN for $895. I haven’t seen the Bauhn in person, but I saw the Akai at several HN stores, and I have had a bit of hands on time with it. To me, its picture quality looked surprisingly good. I had the chance to do a side-by-side comparison of that Akai and a $1800+ Panasonic 4k TV (sorry, can’t remember the exact model). I watched both SD TV content and a 1080p Blue-ray movie, also played around with various picture settings. The only noticeable downside was its max brightness, but I guess that’s a drawback of most cheap TVs including the Bauhn. Backlight wasn’t as uniform as the Panasonic either (however it wasn't noticeable until I specifically looked for backlight uniformity with a dark uniform background), but again something which is inherent in all cheap TVs.

I almost bought it even though I wasn't really looking at cheap TVs because it looked quite really good for the price!. But at the end I decided to buy something else because I came across a decent deal for a larger better TV.

  • So how do you get the TV delivered to you? Do you actually walk out the checkout line with the 65" TV in your trolley? Or they have a back section where you can take your car and load up? Genuine question as I most probably will not have anyone with me to help.

When I bought one of this size from Aldi (Fairy Meadow) they had a flat bed trolley to wheel it out to the car park and I managed to get it into my car by myself - but there were staff to help if required.

Picked the last one (65" TV)at Joondalup store today around 10:30am. Just fits in an i30… Had to drive hugging the steering wheel!
Couldn't find the head phones and power cube.

  • Anyone get the BT headphones? Can you pair them with more than one device?
