          @eneloop
None of us do. I suspect that there's no such a thing as a typical ozbargain user.
I think that you'd be surprised at the variety of people on here and or reasons for looking for bargains. Some are here because they're trying to make the most of a small income. Others, here have lots of assets, but little income. Others don't need bargains but are here because they enjoy the hunt. I even know one ozbargain member who is on a very good income who doesn't 'need' bargains, but likes to be frugal because it lets him give more money away to charities and people that are struggling.
There's young, old, male, female, lots of nationalities…. It's all of this diversity and our common interest that makes us a community.

    • I haven't, although I do utilise their "click & collect" service.

      • +1

Yeah I've done that in past but can't use their gift vouchers to pay though..

    • doubt very much they would do it, why not just go through their eBay store and click and collect?

edit just saw your reply regarding gift vouchers.

    • yes my local will do it.

word of warning, sparebox includes shipping in their prices so if you buy multiple items you're paying shipping twice. might be better off purchasing from their actual store.

    • I believe this only holds if you're purchasing < $50. Every time I've purchased from spares box (always >$50 lots), ebay and web store have been same price.

      Always worth checking both, though.

      E.g.
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162064590857
      https://www.sparesbox.com.au/dba-brake-rotor-x-gold-front-pa…
Both $353 (pre-discount) and both shipped free.

I wish febest_australia were included in this sale :\

      • yes you are quite correct sir! it's a shame on their <$50 product though. Such a sneaky tactic.

        • Standard ebay fare, isn't it? I've been tempted to message sellers in the past and ask them to bundle shipping - not sure if I'd have success, though.

        • @Osprey06: not really, you can definitely bundle and discount shipping as needed. source: I use to sell on ebay quite a bit.

Any bargain dash cam. I have no idea what's good or not but just know that the closest to zero$ is what I would like to pay.

    • Am also looking for a REAR Dash Cam, recently got one @ the front.

Over the weekend some *%$# hit my rear and did not leave their info. So disappointed.

  • Sadly Sparesbox has bumped their price.

      Got a Rexy I assume?

      • Bingo!

    • Sadly Sparesbox has bumped their price.

The price increase occurred on the 10th of March after the first purchase was made, it's likely that they had not included postage in the price and increased it to include this.

      • +1

        It said free postage before

          It said free postage before

What part of it's likely they had not accounted for postage in the previous price is unclear?

  • Doesn't seem like SuperCheap allow you to order more then 1 item.

    • Same here. Tried to order multiple items, it didn't work.

      • Same here. Tried to order multiple items, it didn't work.

I've never been able to get more then one item to work when checking out on eBay with Supercheap Auto. Other stores are fine.

        • +1

I sent them an ebay email to ask why I couldn't add more than 1 product to my checkout this was the reply:

"This item is now a deleted item and has been flagged as such in our system however the residual listing can still appear on ebay even though it is not available."

My interpretation: they will be 'deleting' any special price items if they have not already.
The item in question is still listed on ebay, now with 'limited quantity'.

        • @Wolfy:
I wanted to buy some spark plugs which are no where "deleting items", neither are the special priced items.

  • Noticed Supercheap don’t have any of their current catalogue prices listed on ebay it’s all the full price.

    • +1

Yes they do; awning, trolley jack, jerry cans etc are all listed on catalogue and on ebay at the same price.

The Projecta dual battery charger seems to be the best deal going! Been looking for a dual battery charger for a while, these projecta ones have allot of good features and good value for money.

Lowest price i could see on the net $269 + 20% discount is roughly $215. Pretty happy :)

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252780237654

    • Nice pickup, it's $365.95 on their website: https://www.vicoffroad.com.au/projecta-12v-volt-dc-to-dc-25a…

      • they just changed it to match on ebay too :0 cant believe that!!
Up by $100!! it was $269 now they got it for almost $100 more.. dodgy

    Doesn't work.

    • Click on the link from the first responder CVonC which works. Although links to Supercheap doesn't have the indication for discount due to almost all items have postage. I assume that discount will apply to item price.

    • Have sorted it by date so it should be fine now, thanks.

I don't neg often and this is ONLY to draw attention to a small problem i had with this code.

I applied the voucher succesfully to my goodies and then paid. Afterwards i noticed i had paid full price. I started a chat with ebay and they told me that that

"XXXXX, I would like you to know that according to the terms and conditions of this promotions code, "Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered under the same email address."

yes my ebay address and paypal address are different. If everyone in the world knows this is a problem then i will pull my head in and delete all this. I have been using voucher codes for years with no problem.

It took me 10 minutes of annoying chat for them to agree to refund the difference and that it would take 15 days to go through.

    • My email is the same now, but it didn't used to be, so that's interesting to know.
Last time something similar happened to me, I found it easier to simply cancel the entire transaction.

    • That is thoroughly ridiculous. Thanks for the heads up mate!

    • Had a similar problem, except I didn't go through with payment because it said "this code can't be applied to some of your items". I tried purchasing single items, also tried with my wife's ebay and paypal account, but it just didn't work so i'm giving up. If anyone knows how to get around this that would be great!

    • What a bloody g up.

    • -1

I don't neg often and this is ONLY to draw attention to a small problem i had with this code.

What does this have to do with this deal?

I applied the voucher succesfully to my goodies and then paid. Afterwards i noticed i had paid full price.

You see the discount immediately before the final confirmation of the code is valid and you've met the terms and conditions.

yes my ebay address and paypal address are different. If everyone in the world knows this is a problem then i will pull my head in and delete all this. I have been using voucher codes for years with no problem.

This has been in the terms and conditions of these deals for as long as I can remember. Maybe you haven't been receiving the discounts, maybe there was an issue that allowed you touse another PayPal account or maybe there was another flaw but the terms and conditions are clear so I don't understand why you have negged the deal.

"Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered under the same email address."

    • yes my ebay address and paypal address are different. If everyone in the world knows this is a problem then i will pull my head in and delete all this. I have been using voucher codes for years with no problem.

The earliest I could find was way back in 2014 where this was the requirement so this has been around as long as ebay were offering vouchers.

"Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered under the same email address."

  • Beware of the con artists at BRINTECH and their deceptive advertising.

After browsing several of the Bendix ceramic brakes, I decided to purchase http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/201580297557

Upon arrival I realised I received something completely different: http://i67.tinypic.com/312jkly.jpg
Not even *!@#ing ceramic, cheap Kevlar (fancy name for cheap metal $#!t) garbage that will wear out quick on my car. I see that even though they use the Bendix pic with Bendix blotted out and have some disclaimers, but they a sent product resembles nothing of the original properties-wise not packaging-wise. What's more frustrating is that the original Bendix ones are cheaper on eBay.

    BRINTECH never again.

    • -2

Not even *!@#ing ceramic, cheap Kevlar (fancy name for cheap metal $#!t) garbage that will wear out quick on my car.

You expected real ceramic pads for under $50?

I don't know what's worse, you thinking you can get cheap decent no-name safe brake parts online or you fitting them to your car and driving it on the roads…… Sheesh.

      • +1

My Tru-Stop ceramic brakes from Repco are going just fine on two of my cars 25k+ on. Were $40 a pop. I change these myself.

These on eBay are around the same price as my purchase http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142220421075

I buy my Bendix brakes from eBay for $40-$50 range quite regularly, so the notion of getting a decent ceramic technology set is not as far fetched as you make it sound.

The Bendix General CT retails at around $75 (Check SCA website) and can be regularly had cheaper for 25%-30% off at Repco/SCA.

It's astounding that you defend the trickery the seller engages in. Rather than conceding that perhaps that the seller should illustrate the actual product (as pictured in my link), you go bat for them instead. You are associated perhaps? If so, please declare as so.

BTW I actually purchased thinking they were genuine (my bad for detecting the trickery with the picture and disclaimer), otherwise we would not have been here arguing over this.

        Now go sheesh yourself mate.

        • -2

My Tru-Stop ceramic brakes from Repco are going just fine on two of my cars 25k+ on. Were $40 a pop. I change these myself.

Ceramic pads are not as good as semi-metallic pads on the road so why use something that doesn't perform as well?

It's clear from the listing that they were not Bendix pads but you purchased them anyway which shows how little you care for safety. Fake brake pads along with many other cars parts have been an issue for many years and you purchased ones that were obvious knockoffs of a cheap brake pad.

        • +1

          @Maverick-au: mate,
          1. As I asked previously, are you associated or not?
          2. Please keep your sermons about safety to yourself. I am well aware of what's safe and what's not and I give more regard to local instore experts whom I have trusted over the years than some no name fella who won't reveal if he is associated or not.
          3. Please pay careful attention to my posts and see if you can comprehend the fact that I purchased thinking they were original (which ultimately is my fault that I fell for the trickery with the picture). I clearly should've seen the blotted Bendix part and the disclaimer.
          4. Had the actual picture been posted that they are the cheap Transgold garb and not Bendix, I'd NEVER buy it!!!! This cheap garb can be had for $30-odd easily.
          5. Again if they ain't Bendix, why not just post the Transgold pic and list it as so.
          6. Reputable sellers don't engage in this form of trickery.
          7. Again, please reveal if you are associated.
