The reviews of this product don't look good. http://www.productreview.com.au/p/raco-50470rpc.html

to be fair, nothing on productreview looks good. the website takes money for comment (see china southern / china eastern) and 'verified buyer' means nothing either

the website is dodgier than MSY warranty claims

this is what I am talking about - for anyone that doesn't know - http://www.productreview.com.au/p/china-southern-airlines.ht…

for what is one of the worlds worst airlines, they were slammed with nothing but negative reviews only a couple of years back, take a look at all the glowing 5 star reviews since. All of them 'verified purchases' all use the same template of generic picture + generic western name + complimenting staff often by their names + broken English

I reported this to productreview about a year ago, asking why they allow such blatant fake reviews on the site. Only to never receive a reply. Many of the 1 star reviews say the same thing.

funny that it is ranked incredibly high now and the owners of the site allow it. compare the number of reviews for that airline with number of reviews for any other airline on the site. so who do you think is getting money from this?

The reviews are a little unclear. Modern pressure cookers don't "blow up" there are multiple points of failure, where pressure will be vented before the thing actually ruptures. Conversely if the lid is not locked properly it might pop off before it reaches operating pressure. Which of these happened is unclear from the reviewer's descriptions.

I actually have had one of these for almost 3 years. I got a deal on it from memory and it has worked fine. I still use it often - being stainless steel is a great benefit and it is far easier to adjust the pressure with a switch as opposed to a weight like my last one.

From what I can see this looks the same as the one I've had for well over 10 years. Its one of my favourite things to use. Easy to clean and I'm on the same seal that came with it. I also have another Ralco 6 piece cook set and they have been feeding a family of 5 every day for about 8 years and going strong.

  • I recommend buying Hawkins Pressure Cookers. They last for many decades. They are in market leader for many years with proven product quality. Also the prices are very competitive.

This one is 6.5 litres and cheaper also.

Also parts are easily available in case you need new gasket or safety valves.

    • Well the model in the listing is an aluminium, that's why it is cheaper

That being said, I can vouch for Hawkins pressure cookers, they are of a top quality
