What soft of headphone are you after (Closed back, Open back, Portable, Studio?) and what is your price range?
Similar size as this one for studio use, open or closed not important, I like with one and good audio cable (no V cable), durable pads.
The price, it depends maybe around $80 if it's a bargain price down from a rrp price.Check out the Philips SHP9500. These are really good, neutral sound, open back, one of the best headphones I've tried for gaming. You're probably looking at around the $100 mark though. If your budget is really tight I've heard good things about the Superlux HD681B and the Superlux HD668B. Some modding can make theses worthy cans for the price.

https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=S…@nereus: Thanks for the good finding.
The Superlux will be a huge upgrade from my $13 "Digital Sound" I bought years ago from the Reject Shop :)@nereus:
+1 for the Philips SHP9500. I've had these for 7 or 8 months. They're fantastic. One of the best sounding headphones for under $200 I can vouch.You're welcome. Let me know what you think of the Superlux if you get them. Second-hand is also a good alternative to pick up some cheaper headphones. I gave the Sennheiser HD280 Pros a listen a couple of weeks ago - a bit bass heavy for me, but a well built and good sounding can. I see these come up on eBay quite a bit from anywhere in the $60 - $80 range.
@xiangtan:
Yep, I've had mine for around 3 years and they are still going strong. Although I've upgraded to the Sennheiser HD650s for all round listening (Music, Gaming mostly). But the SHP9500s for gaming are better than the Sennheiser. Probably more comfortable than the Sennheisers as well.@nereus:
Being open back they're more comfortable than the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro. They become my go-to headphones unless with classical music I still use the DT770 Pro.If you are after a pair of 668 check out http://www.gearbest.com/on-ear-over-ear-headphones/pp_279992…
going for 38 bucks delivered there atm.
@fairyfloss: Thanks very much.
That model has the male 3.5mm plug attached to so I worry that I'll break it.
But I like this one even so it's not over the ears: http://www.gearbest.com/on-ear-over-ear-headphones/pp_462405…@dealhunt:
Apparently its actually the opposite, its harder to break: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-0Jw1KHdkY
interesting closed end version/I'm assuming closed "ear", as opposed to the open ear that is usually advertised
I have the open ear version and its pretty damn good, just can't wear it in public, as I'm not a douché
I really hate these early morning commuters listening AC-DC at high volume in a crowded cabin and with a can of Red Bull , they seem not caring about the environment around them.
yeah, my comment was just being cheeky towards anyone who I assume ignorantly wears open ear headphones in public, unaware of attention they gain
Naming is a bit deceptive, as it has completely different drivers to the regular 598.
I got one from a similar deal, great, I wear that very often at home. too big for taking outdoors, I really don't want get it damaged.
Somehow, it sounds similar to HD439, but much better quality. I never really turn it up much, so 598 can be much better details.Great post. Had this on my watchlist until the Harvey Norman deal on the hd451 a few weeks back. No doubt these are better quality but happy for now.
Guys, can anyone comment on the delivery time ordering from Amazon FR? thanks
Any cheaper alternative to this headphones?
