Sent my phone to ShoppingSquare for warranty returns, now they ignore me.

I purchased my phone in Sep last year, then started playing up earlier this year.
So sent a request to ShoppingSquare, they gave me an RA number, so I sent the phone back to them "Registered" so I know when they'll get it.

That was in 20th Jan this year, and have sent a few message on their site, and now I'm being 100% ignored.

Have any of you have any experience with these guys?

What's the turn around for warranty return?

How long should I give them before I get ACCC involve?

    Shopping square are terrible for service and warranty. I had a computer to return, it was taking 3-4 weeks to get a response to my requests for an update… Whole process took over 6 months to get it back. During that time i was contacting ACCC, state department of commerce or fair trading or whatever it is and whoever else i could get to help, basically even they couldn't get in contact with them, and said my only course of action was to take it to magistrates court, which i was getting ready to do, when a few weeks later they finally got back to me and sent it back.

    Now i don't buy from them.

    My advice, try to contact them 3 times over 3 consecutive weeks, if you have no response after that then escalate the matter to your relevant authority.
    If they are still pulling the same shit that they pulled with me then they will reply every 3 or 4 weeks with the same scripted bullshit responses hoping that you'll just give up.

    I will give them another week before i take further action.

    This kind of business only thinks of profits, they don't care about customers!

      Contact your credit card company, and charge the transaction back, and dont deal with them again.

      Shoppingsquare should be banned on ozbargain imo.

        And i paid by PayPal.

        • You can, you can also open a claim with PayPal and escalate it straight away.

          You might cop some abuse and bullying from them though - but don't close the dispute unless you get what is right.

          Call them and ask why it was closed.
          Tell them if no satisfaction you will report it to the ombudsman.

      • I bought a Xiaomi Power Bank from them,it took long time to arrived, Then I had an issue with it, once again it took very very long time to get refund after I sent it back, just a waste of time,I wouldn't buy anything from them ever again :)

    They were pulling this stunt during their days as apus.

      Maybe if we get people's attention and get them to share their bad experiences with Shopping Square here, the more the better, then maybe we can get ozb to ban SQuare.

  • I had bad dealings with them as well for a warranty issue (on an item that was through a deal on here).

    They totally ignored me then abused the hell out of me for opening a claim with PayPal. They tried to bully me into closing the claim by saying they would do nothing unless I did. They said if I closed the claim I could sent the item back and if they received it, they would check to see if it was a valid warranty claim.

    I did not close the claim and they escalated it very quickly. Idiots!

    I had to return the item to get the refund but that wasn't a problem, I sent registered and claimed that cost back under Paypal's return refund.

    I will not deal with them again and agree that they should be banned!

    Same issue as above and most people.
    Was also bullied into trying to close claim. I just posted whole chat dialogue to PayPal and they refunded me.

  • I would escalate with PayPal right away , don't wait. Mine almost hit the 6 months period when claims can't be escalated

    After a long frustrating experience with ShoppingSquare, I have to thank @danilochan for his help to resolve this problem.

    Just got a message from him:


    It's good news that our team manage to get new unit replacement (instead of refurbished) for you. It will be sent out by today. Our team will give you the latest update via support ticket.

    I have to say, I'm happy for the outcome, but I still think ShoppingSquare should have handled this better.
