17% off Muhle R41 Razor $48.55 @ Shave Rave + Free Shipping

autumn2017R41

Autumn is upon us. Thought it has been a while since I had a decent razor sale. So today is the ever popular R41 Safety Razor.

This razor is popular for a reason… It's simple, reliable and it gets the job done every time. It is well suited to men with a course growth. If you have sensitive skin or a mild growth, send me a PM and I'll see if I can sort you out a deal with the R89.

Also don't forget our store now has Lucky Tiger, Marvis and Proraso. We're pretty stoked about that, so be sure to check it out.

If you're looking for shaving cream to start with, here would be my recommendations:

Muhle Aloe Vera: This is an amazing shaving cream, really easy to use and has excellent performance. Perfect for people with sensitive skin also.

Proraso Green: Another great shaving cream. Every tube lasts you around 6 months so it is very affordable and a solid performer.

For men with a more aggressive growth, try the Proraso red. This stuff is pretty much designed for men with a course growth, so well worth a go.

As per usual, if you sign up for an account you will automatically collect reward points. You can cash these in for vouchers and this makes wet shaving even more affordable. Works with all products in store and you only have to use it if you want to. This deal is open to everyone regardless.

If you have any questions, I'll be sitting in the comments section.

  • This is effectively a price increase. The price was $49.14 in July.

    • Different sale at a different time. Considering we give free shipping and free samples with orders. It's not a bad deal. Like any store our retail prices fluctuate. Are we not allowed to do that based on purchasing prices and wholesaling fluctuations?

Currently Pureman has it reduced to 54, I've gone one better.

The shaving shed doesn't count because they no longer process orders since they've closed.

    • Sorry I meant beard and blade.

As this appears to be an 'issue' I have increased the percentage to 15% off.

Although for future reference, past deals do not act as a precedent for future deals. If it's the best price at the time, it's still a deal. Like anything prices fluctuate and are not constant. $49.14 was affordable for me then and it basically isn't now. That's how business works.

This is effectively a price increase. The price was $49.14 in July.

Following this logic, any attention seeking keyboard warrior can come and troll half the deals posted here.

What a ridiculous statement, who cares if a sale 9 months ago was slightly cheaper. Too late, unless you find a deal on time machines you've missed the boat.

The exception would be regular specials (like the old DS Eneloops, supermarket specials etc) that come up every couple of weeks.

Rep is selling quality products with local warranty, always helpful and happy to make am extra effort for members here.

      • When you place your order feel free to advise Associated OP you are content with the original 10% discount.

Too late, unless you find a deal on time machines you've missed the boat.

The price is almost the same now. Perhaps the boat is a ferry.

        • Manners are free champ. Sure there are some dodgy reps (and members trying to milk votes) who are taking the p!ss who probably don't deserve all the pleases and thank yous but just because someone is posting as a rep doesn't mean they need to put up with the rubbish and trolling that regularly comes out here.

Not saying you were overly rude in this instance (and I've been guilty of it in the past too so won't throw stones) but ShaveRave has always gone over the top to help out OzBargain members with advice and will happily drop prices to provide the lowest price. I'm amazed that he comes back with the idiotic abuse that is tossed around here sometimes.

There's a neg here that's no longer valid but the user can't be bothered rectifying. People are happy to trash someone's business for a dollar but not so quick to acknowledge efforts of a rep to rectify the issue.

        • +1

@OzBragain: The price is now lower than in July, so the boat is not missed.

          "Manners are free champ."
"Thank you for increasing the discount to 15%." https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4492259/redir

"just because someone is posting as a rep doesn't mean they need to put up with the rubbish and trolling …"
"Your shaving cream recommendations are informative and would benefit from each mentioned product shown with its price and its own link. We like to see prices and you might sell more."

As you can see, I encouraged OP to maximise this post's potential champ.

Now just need to work on your reading and comprehension there tiger

wheres the bargain? its $42 here http://www.theshaveshed.com.au/muhle-r41-chrome-safety-razor… and that comes with a 15 blade sampler pack, these posts are nothing but spam really

unless you call the sale 'ten percent off our incredibly expensive razors making them still way more expensive than any other online store in AU' coupon code RIPOFF

    • -2

Except te shave shed is out of business and apparently not processing orders. So no.

And if you're going to write rubbish on my post. Do your research first. Even if you perceive it to be expensive, it isn't "more expensive than every other Aussie store". That's just making things up.

I don't mind being corrected, if there's an issue with the deal, I'll fix it. But keep your criticisms grounded and truthful, otherwise you loose your authority. You think i'm too expensive… fine, lets have a conversation rather than mouthing off insults in the comment section. It's uncalled for and unproductive.

        you loose

and you write resumes for a living. oh the shame.

good luck man with the shop, business is pretty cut throat in this industry!

        • Seriously, what I do for a living is not relevant here.

And you are quite right. Thank you for taking the time to look up my trading names and finding out.

What's shameful about writing resumes for a living? I help people write resumes from all different backgrounds. You know, high end corporates looking to go further, people coming from overseas looking for a resume that will resonate with locals…. Career changes etc. What's wrong with that? I get to have a job I enjoy helping people to achieve their life goals. I'm actually proud of what I do because I get to help people.

If I get somebody for a 50K role into a 65k role. That changes their life completely and happens frequently. I refuse to be ashamed of that.

What's shameful about writing resumes for a living?

absolutely nothing, but you should know the difference between lose and loose if you put professional writing services out there and place peoples jobs on the line

@sumoyoshi: I'm writing on a phone. Get over it.

      • I thought The Shave Shed stopped trading a couple of years ago when they went quiet but they've recently posted on Facebook (after a 3 year break) about closing down sale…might be genuine this time

        • Too my knowledge people can't get payments through their gateway. I've tried myself, and even contacted the owner recently about buying out parts of his business and couldn't get in touch. Very quiet.

    • +1

That was a liquidation sale, hence the ridiculously low pricing.

    free samples with orders

You may as well add that to your description.

Your shaving cream recommendations are informative and would benefit from each mentioned product shown with its price and its own link. We like to see prices and you might sell more.

past deals do not act as a precedent for future deals

Indeed they do at OzBargain! Just like in offline shopping, over 99% of shoppers don't bother complaining or commenting but simply spend elsewhere. Thank you for increasing the discount to 15%.

  • +4

    Wow that's expensive

    • +1

How many Years or decades do you think it would last?

  • +7

This is cheaper elsewhere. $48.60 from Beard and Blade on Ebay using coupon code C10AU, also free shipping from Aust.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Muhle-R41-Safety-Razor-Tooth-Comb…

OP the nature of Ozbargain is that if you post a deal, people are naturally going to try and find a cheaper price. I think the correct response when that happens (even if someone is being a jerk) is to act polite and courteous to try and build some brand value for your store, and maybe even drop your price a little more to match the other prices found. Arguing with people and bickering makes me not want to shop at your store to be honest. I respect someone who runs their business professionally and acts as such.

    • +4

Thank you, I have altered the deal to match.

I have been corrected on deals before. I actually don't mind… at all… I get it. Really this business isn't here to make money, realistically it probably never will. For me it's a hobby selling things that I am truly passionate about.

That being said, when somebody comes at me with a price match, I want to at least be shown some respect. Comments like "AHHH YOURE A RIP OFF" they don't do the community any favours… Also statements such as "you're the most expensive in Australia" are also not true… Even if the original price wasn't the cheapest, it was still cheaper than 95% of other stores. I try to be polite and courteous, but it gets frustrating sometimes when untrue trolling comments gain momentum. I defend my store because it is an extension of myself.

If he had responded as nicely as you, wouldn't have had a problem. Truth is I don't have to do these deals. After postage they pretty much break even. But that's not the point of it, I want everyone to have access to these products that have traditionally been sold at or above retail prices. I get a buzz out of that and when people twist your good intentions and drag them into the mud. Well… you know.

  • Great razor.

    • You mean like this ?

  • +1

Due to being made alert of Beard and Blade's cheaper price. the sale has been revised to 17% off to match.

    Hey Rep
I've read a few reviews of this and am about to pull the trigger, but the consensus seems to be that the handle could be longer/heavier. Are you able to do a deal on the R41 Grande? If not I'll just grab this but thought I would ask.
    Cheers

    • Hi Ebosh, this razor is significantly lighter than the grande. But it performs very well. The handle still has enough weight to glide easily over the skin.

Send me a pm and I'll work something out for you on the Grande
