If youve planned to buy something, buy it now ASAP. eBay have abruptly pulled down the sitewide deals (not the pseudo specific deals where stores jack up the prices) early in the past.

Buying. Doing a complete electrical and mechanical fitout for a BT50 with Canopy, was buying supplies (wiring, plugs, 3000w inverter, 2x120ah batteries, bash plates, UHF etc. Also grabbed exhaust for mustang, wheel nuts, badge kit, cold air intake. 6800 bucks worth.

    • Yep, going to be changing it the Cha-Ching notification, to annoy everyone else in the office.

      ………………… It's already begun

      • what do you sell out of curiosity

        • I'd be pretty confident in saying that we are Australia's Biggest eBay seller of ex-gov computers, laptops ect. ect.

        • @Calmago: "the"? you mean they? as in MATTDAMON above? or yourself?

          thats pretty crazy then

        • @furythree:

Sorry I was referring to us, it would help if I proofread sometimes.

        • @Calmago: out genuine curiosity

do you guys have to buy the surplus/lease devices off these entities. or are they given to you. or are you like a vendor selling on their behalf?

does the public have access to this inventory?

        • @furythree:

sorry mate, really can't go into specifics.

Can anyone recommend a wireless router (not modem)? Cheers

    • I'm looking for one too. Son poured his apple juice into mine last night. Using a dlink 10/100 at moment. Would prefer gigabit router though. Been out of the loop for a few years with router technology so hoping someone here could recommend good brand and model.

The ASUS AC-87u is a good performer, stock firmware is OK (getting better) but custom firmware is very stable and has good features. If you have a slightly bigger budget, try the AC88u which has a better chip, reliability and 8 gigabit ports. Both are slightly discounted on eBay using the C10 code but not the best price its been. Also try Gumtree to pickup cheaper deals.

      • Thank you. Will check them out now. The 8 ports would be a definite plus.

        • Thanks for that. Whats the use for such a crazy/fast modem when my place only gets like 30-35Mbps max?

        • @ycon: To be fair you never gave any details on what kind of environment it would be used for. I personally have 2 separate fttp nbn connections at my place. Both are 100mbps.
The ac88u would be ideal for my settings just not at the price on ebay.

Isn't there always a 10% sitewide code? It's the one that shows up on the search page after doing a few searches on ebay. It would say 10% off on whatever you're searching for but i found i could use it on whatever i bought.

    • +5

The ongoing 10% deals usually have a requirement that it come from an Aussie seller, and also usually limited to certain (restrictive) categories. This is an "open" 10% off, which is rare.

    • +1

There is rarely ever a site wide code on the front page.

    • Seems to be pretty standard pricing according to StaticIce. Are you confusing it with another model?

Looking to buy a Xiaomi Mi 5s, would anyone buy them off ebay? Any reputable sellers?

  • Does it have to be all same currency for 10% to work?as normally you need to check out separately if different currency?
As would have been good if it worked on all item in basket.
As some are below min spend.

  • When i checkout after applying the code, i get redirected to the paypal app/site to make payment and the discount does not appear (i.e. discount is applied, appears in checkout, redirected to Paypal and price shows as the pre-discount price? Is this right?

  • Has anyone dealt with the DCXpert ebay store? Are they a reliable source or should I expect delays to no end?

    • Yes, they are operated by CR Kennedy which is the Australian distributor for a lot of products/brands

      • So reliable to order from?

        • yes, i've ordered a few things from them before.

    • Absolutely. Bought my Pentax FA77 from them the last time they had a 10% off site-wide. Wish I had money to drop on the K-1. :(

    • Just ordered a sigma 50-100 from them.will wait and see.

  • Is 10% site wide the highest discount eBay has done ever?

    • Nah, 15% is.

      • 20% was when a UK coupon worked. Was a while ago now

  • Probably been asked in the past with these coupons, but is the buyer still covered under ebay/paypal protection if something goes wrong with the sale?
Nothing obvious in the T&C's but point 17 mentions something along the lines of:

"To the extent permitted by law, eBay and PayPal will not be responsible for any loss incurred by you in redeeming or attempting to redeem the offer or for any costs, damages, accident, delay, injury, loss, expense, or inconvenience that may arise in connection with the use of the offer."

  • I'm trying to buy this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/361575517412 but it's telling me the code is invalid?

    • Most likely car parts are "excluded". Sorry.

      • If that was the case then 'vehicle parts & accessories' would be excluded?
It's a separate category to 'cars bikes & boats'.

        • I'm about to pull the trigger on a $2000 purchase on a "Vehicle Parts & Accessories". It doesn't say it is excluded. Your experience has me worried.

edit: tested on shopping cart and the code IS valid for "Vehicle Parts & Accessories". Not sure why it didn't work for you.

  • Any good Hong Kong mobile phone seller from eBay? Samsung S7 are around $600 before 10% discount.

  • bought s7 edge (aus stock, outright, unlocked, unbranded) from mobileciti $923 delivered, + free samsung gear fit 2 watch thingo

    • The HK version is a lot cheaper, why didn't you go with that option?

peace of mind mostly, plus get it in 3 days instead of 2-3 weeks

  • does this work on US ebay in US dollars? or only on AU ebay listed in AU dollars?

  • Many thanks OP, been hanging out for one of these. Noticed they've upped the discount limit from $300 to $600 too, great for me as I've just gone and bought a pretty big-ticket item.

  • If I bought 2 items from non-aussie seller (but on 1 transaction).
1-item from uk (pound) and 1-item from us (US$).
During checkout/payment via PayPal, ebay inform me that they will split due to different currency.
Does it mean I already used 2 transactions (since this code only allowed max 3 transactions) instead of 1 transaction?

  • Any good DAC/portable amp for all of the good headphones I have purchased from Ozbargain?

  • Gahd damn it. Just bought something last night for $100.00. And I've already paid..Any ideas to get this applied to my purchase?

    • Ask seller to refund your amount and process it again.

      • Thanks Devok. I'll probably just leave it (I know really unozbargain like) too much hassle over 10 bucks. Might just have to sacrifice a few coffees this week hahah

        • x

        • +2
        • Oh boy - where you go for your coffees is good. You actually get a few coffees out of 10 bucks.

      • Depends on the sellers. The compromising ones agree but they are not obligated to. I had that happen 2 weeks ago, and all 3 sellers immediately refunded. In actual fact, they are not shortchanged either way because doesn't eBay pay the 10 % discount on our behalf? I know as a seller I have not received less even tho my buyers have applied the promo code.

  • First time I think I have seen it exclude Bullion

  • need a replacement for my LG G4. around $500 ish and with a camera as good as LG G4. Any suggestions?

    • There are some good deals on Samsung Galaxy S7 and HTC 10. The LG G5 is also a good phone. Some people report boot loops on the G5, but that's mostly because the G4 had those very badly. My wife's G5 is stable as, and its dual camera (one normal, one wide-angle) is great. The screen scratches easily though.

      • htc 10 has an excellent camera score on dxomark, as well as both the galaxy s7 and s7 edge. now it's down to budgeting. thanks

  • Ah TheGamesmen have hoiked the price up for PS4 Pro :( ! What a shame.

  • Thanks OP
    Bought a samsung soundbar.

  • Thanks OP

  • When does this end? Purchased an item from a seller who has loads of feedback from buying but new to selling agreed on a price but they noticed it was global shipping program which they said they did not have clue about.
So after having purchased it was canceled and we agreed to repurchase but this time free shipping as i paid extra for item and seller willing to pay towards it also.
I now find i cant pay or check out as says contact seller or change address.
I contacted ebay and they said they only offered free shipping in the usa.
But we are both aware of it being shipped to australia.
I guessed if they just invoice me and ebay said same so what would they need to do say in invoice free shipping or something.
In all my years it was a nightmare and still can't pay lol.
But is the invoice the trick to correct it.
They are very new to selling i can tell with the what was going on today.

I take midnight? That give me a bit of time to sort this mess out

      • Ends 2 March, but should we wait till after because they always come up with something else (maybe better) after ?

        • That's always the case with eBay.. Though i'm sure the next ones will be store_name specific

        • @dingdong3000: I am still reeling about the time few weeks ago when I purchased a Samsung Galaxy phone and a digital radio from The Good Guys on Ebay and there was no 20% off discount. I paid full price and 5 days later, the discount comes. I just could not return and repurchase, they had been opened. I could have saved $100.

    • I have no clue what you're talking about, but the T&C's say this:

This offer commences at 10.00 (AEDT) on 27 February 2017 and ends at 23.59 (AEDT) on 2 March 2017 (“Offer Period”).
