What are you waiting for?

One of the best things I've found to stop spending so much is to wait for the things I don't need absolutely-right-now until they come on sale. As a consequence, I have a lot of stuff waiting to be bought, especially on ebay. (Really wish they'd stop all these restricted codes, and just have a site wide discount already >:)
Off the top of my head, I'm waiting for shock absorbers, some electrical test equipment, a distiller and lots of other bits and bobs.

What products are you waiting for, and how do you keep track on them?

    Steam games.
I use the steam wishlist and buy them when the steam app on my phone, tells me what games I want are on special.

Have you checked today? 480usd at best buy (us only?)

      • Ahhh that looks like such a good deal, I'm getting either that Dell one or the Predator. Time to find out if best buy ships to Oz.

  • HP Microserver gen8 (old n36l needs an upgrade)
    Bluetooth speakers
    Nitecore torch

Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Generally check OzB everyday. Microserver & Nitecore is on OzB alert.

    • I feel like I'm about to have my mind blown here, but…. What is an Ozb Alert? And how do I set one up..?!

      • +1

If you do a search for something, the results page will have a "set up alert" type option

        • i never noticed -thanks!

Hotels and Airline deals are my prime focus

    • Where are you looking to go?

      • +3

Anywhere new as long it's a cheap flight and accomodation.

I've visited more than 50 countries so far, so it's becoming rare to find cheap exotic destinations or deals to new places where I've never travelled or seen.

I'm exactly the same. I plan my travel around where's cheap to fly to. Still waiting to book my travels for this year. I'd like to go to the snow in Japan next year but I'm totally flexible with dates for that..

Same here. I have a bucket list in my head.

  • Generally waiting for stuff in the home and garden category. Seems like patience usually pays off, sometimes big-time!
To keep track, I have a wishlist, when there is a good Ebay or Amex etc special I check the wishlist.

  • I was waiting for a Logitech G920 until today. I made a completely ridiculous offer on eBay and they accepted \o/

I'm waiting for a good price for GTA V, Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 for multiplayer.

    And computer storage.

    And a Nintendo Switch.

I made a completely ridiculous offer on eBay and they accepted

How much did you offer? (vs. their listed price)

    • Nice! I did the same thing for a boxing bag, which has been on the list for 2 years now

  • A stick vacuum. I recently posted a popular deal for a $99 one but I tried my hand at 'Brodening' the one I bought and made a small profit. So now am gonna wait for another really good deal. I won't be actively looking, but will keep my eye on OzB.

For the last few months I was waiting for a watch and a motorcycle but I finally pulled the trigger this week.

For the bike I had a saved search on Gumtree that I was monitoring.

  • If it is a small item, I generally check AliExpress for a price check. Balance the $usd conversion and the freight costs to Aust. Probably cheaper in about 70% of the time, sometimes substantially cheaper. Only thing is you have to be prepared to wait around 5 weeks sometimes, for it to arrive. Recently Aust Post has been less that adequate at delivering anything without a Tracking Number but they have some good arrangements with International countries with them now inputting the incoming Tracking Number into Aust Post's own system, therby having coninuous tracking from origin to delivery. This has obviously come at a cost, being the loss of articles that do NOT have a Tracking number attached.

  • fitbit alta. My garmin vivofit display is just not displaying anymore. It didn't do it before all the sales were happening late last year, and now I can't find a replacement tracker (well, I want the fitbit alta now) for under $140 (they were sub-$100 before!).

    Still waiting.

I'm waiting for first contact with aliens. Hope it will be within my lifetime, and that they will be friendly.

I Want to Believe, they already within us :)

      • Nut sure if troll post or not haha lol but yes they can be within you whenever you want

    • Just bend over and we can make contact tonight ;)

  • Storage - 2x 8TB drives - I should have bought during Black Friday last year; now I'm still waiting.

I'm not sure if there's any chance I'll be able to get a good deal from an Aus seller, unless it's a price error.

Has anyone found any good deals recently?

  • I waited over 36 months to get my first tablet..researched the hell out of it and I mean like I studied the entire mobile market in my desired feature range a million times over and just dreamt of it every night haha lol until I finally found a good bargain but then I waited some more and bought it off gumtree nearly ebay

I guess I could potentially live without it but I needed something else to connect to the internet since my current devices were becoming very outdated and just but cutting it so I guess necessity was my last resort or reason but I cheated a bit and got a higher model
