        • +2

        • +10

Might have had one too many glasses

  • Any suggestions what to spend on?

    • +3

      Food?

    • +1

      Alcohol.

      • Can you buy alcohol through this deal? GREAT IF SO

        • +1

would need to test the discount code, but it certainly will work for the 40 off 120
similar process last time I picked up 3 spirits with RRP of $195 for approx $95 :) (i also stacked an amex cashback)

        • @battler: Not for QLD I don't think? :(

        • @hforhun:

          not in TAS as well

        • Alcohol is working for me in NSW!

    • +1

      Marshmallows.

    • +1

      Condoms

    • Stock up on expensive long / non expirry foods. Ie deodorant , shaving needs , rice ,canned foods and up and go !

    • I stocked up on a few boxes of huggies nappies ($30 per box) and hit $150 very quickly with other random items.
All up with all the promo stacking I got approx 40% off my shop - ie. a jumbo box of huggies nappies for $18!

  • +5

Shame no Amex promo to go with this.

  • Thank you! Just in time for my baking supplies restock.

  • +1

Unfortunately the majority of people do their big shop on the weekend

    • +3

And on Wednesdays, when the catalogue specials/half prices start for the week. This 48 hour deal will expire just when the specials for the week will start.

  • How do I be a new customer?

    • If you haven't paid for anything at Woolies previously (including 5-finger discount scheme), then you can be a new customer. You may click the 'sign up' button.

  • -1

so existing customers can only benefit from $40 cashback spending $120? is that correct?

    • +6

no. existing customers do not get 40 off 120.

  • Never bought from woolies online before..

Quick question, will I be able to pay with woolies gift card and still get the $40 cashback + 10% off $150?

    Thanks

    • +1

      yes
plus use your woolworths rewards card for possible extra benefit - mine for this week is 2000pts for >$70 spend, so there's another $10 saved.

      • +2

I got 2000 for $60 but it has to be spread over 2 weeks. You get 1000 points per week. Essentially $5 credit on this transaction.

        • +1

ah, yes, I had a re-read of the email… 1000pts per week for >70, over next 2 weeks.

  • +3

Much better than the 0.75% increase thingy. Thanks!

    • +19

flash in the pan 48 hour promotions

Your statement is wrong in so many ways. We're passing on the increase that's been provided to us by the merchant, and in this case, they've given it to us for 48 hours. The same applies every time we increase the percentage for WISH cards and most other stores. This is how the affiliate space works. Thank you.

      • +1

        Doing a great job mate

      • Thanks for educating me, I wasn't aware of how it works. My apologies if you have taken offense, it just would be nice to see these increases a more permanent fixture.

Given the down votes I assume others here don't want longer running CR increases.

        • +2

Hi TE. No offense taken. I agree, it would be nice, but at the end of the day, unless the merchant gives us an increase for a longer period of time, we can't either. It's just not sustainable.

        • +1

The down votes would be for not understanding, and not the idea. A little harsh but that's the way the cookie crumbles. (I didn't downvote you!)

I assume we would all like deals like this to run as long as possible but as mentioned above, it is not CR that sets this, it is the offer they are passing on from the merchant.

        • @tightarse: Hi OP. Do you have any idea when I can get the transaction apporved? Currently it shows 28/05/2017 in your system. Seems unbelievable to me as it is just a grocery shopping….Will it need 3 months to be verified? Curious…

  • +3

Can we buy Woolworths Gift card worth 120?
    Ta.

  • +7

BBQ chickens are $7.90 and last half a week, the rest of the money is spent on fresh fruit and vegetables.
$150 of groceries from Woolworths is almost 6 weeks normal spend.

For an OzBargainer, non-perishables should only purchased in bulk or opportunistically when on sale (1/2 price or better).

This week's deals has the following longer lasting non luxury/semi luxury essentials at 1/2 price:
    Gold'n Canola Oil 4 Litre $9.00
Sunrice Jasmine or Brown Rice 5 kg $6.75
    Bertolli Olive Oil 750ml $6.49
    Palmolive Shower Gel 500ml $2.70
    Greenseas Tuna 95g $0.89

Unfortunately one can only drink so much canola oil and use so much shower gel. Maybe 168 cans of tuna is the way to go, but mercury chelation is expensive.

    • in the gold old days when rain checks lasted 12 months I used to collect them for rainy days

      • +2

My dad used to do that. He would get a raincheck on heaps of "great specials" even if he didn't need them straight. Then go in at a couple of weeks later when he needed them and get them at the rainchecked price!

He would sometimes spend more effort on saving money than it was actually worth just to get a bargain!

        • Pity he is not on OzBargain (Maybe he is on here or maybe he has sadly passed), he'd be posting some cracking bargains I'm sure.

    • ohh I've been using canola oil and drinking shower gel wrong

  • I haven't purchased from woolworths online before, but am a existing cardmember, will i get $40 off $120? TIA

    • yes

  • Can it be ordered yet delivered after the timeframe?

    • yes, you get to pick a delivery date/time at checkout, can choose quite a few days into the future.

  • -3

If say my friend is a new Woolworths customer and uses my existing cash reward does that count ?

  • Can I do pickup? Do cashrewards cards come through straight away? Thanks TA!

    • And do these cash rewards egift cards void the $40 cashBack? Thanks!!

      • no they don't.
on average, gift cards arrive after a couple of hours.

        • Thx

        • Does that mean when the Cashrewards offer webpage says "Rewards are not payable when purchasing Woolworths Gift/ eGift Cards", they don't actually mean it/ enforce it?

        • +2

          @slimdusty:

Rewards are not payable when purchasing Woolworths Gift/ eGift Cards.

Gift cards are purchased through Everyday Gift Cards.

The $40 reward is for making a purchase at Woolworths.com.au

Woolworths Wish Gift Cards are a valid form of payment.

  • +3

I would like to do this, it's a good offer, but seriously could not make up $150 worth of stuff to buy

    • me too. Can I buy $150 wish card, and spend my av. shop ($30) in store?

  • I've re-read the title; am I (or the store rep) missing something? Is this for delivery only?

    • thanks, for the revised title

  • Can we pay $120 by Woolworths gift card ?.

    • +1

      yep

  • So just to reiterate - there is no way, shape or form in which this offer can be used to achieve more than the usual 5% off gift cards?

  • Any deal for previous woolies customers…

  • Can we use this for the gift cards?

    • +1

You can't purchase gift/WISH cards to avail of this offer, but you can use WISH cards as payment towards this offer :)

  • I am not a new online customer to woolworths but my wife has never bought anything online from woolworths. If she opens one and buy does it count? Or new account per household?

  • can you order thoose visa 1 only gift cards online?

  • Can I just create a new account or will they be able to tell if the address or credit/debit card is the same?

    • +1

it didnt let me, it recognised my name. which will be a problem as i was going to buy alcohol and will need to show id

      • this is what i want to confirm as well.

I created a new acct with same name, same WW reward ##, maybe same address and same DOB for alcohol purchase.

the only difference is email address, am i still qualify as new customer???

        • same doubt

        • Used the coupon code on one order, first account. Tried to make a new account on second order, same address seems to be OK but same WW reward # will mark the coupon code as already used too many times.

        • @TedHead:

I used new email, different address, different email, different phone, I don't put WW reward # there.

          Retailer: Woolworths.com.au
Date of sale: 27 Feb 2017
          Sale value: AUD 0.00 *
          Expected cashback: AUD 40.00
          Estimated approval: 28 May 2017

Hopefully WW didn't pick up my same name and same DOB and pay me the money.

  • anyone know if i can use multiple egift cards for the purchase?

    • Yes

      • How can you use multiple gift cards? I just keep getting an error saying my giftcard amount isn't enough for my order.
(Because i can only input 1 giftcard number

Edit- nevermind figured it out, you change the amount field in payment page

  • Once again loyal customers get forgotten about. Might go to coles for a bit i think.

    • +2

Coles Online's pricing is not the same as in store, catalog specials are the same price but a lot of other things are jacked up online.

      • How about woolies?

        • Woolies online prices are the same as in store, the only thing you miss out on is the possibility of discounted meat that is due to expire in a few days.

When buying units of things, such as "1 piece of garlic" (which is a bulb) I have found generally that when I get it home and weigh it, it works out better in my favour to pay the unit price rather than the per kg price… meaning they don't weigh it and charge accordingly in store, they give you a piece of garlic that is likely to be valued at a higher price per kg than you have actually paid.

        • thank you for the info.

  • +2

Thanks TA. Cost me $65 for $150 worth of stuff. (Using Amex Dan M deal from some time ago)

  • I just paid ~$85 for $160 worth of stuff.

There was a "spend $100 and get $10 off" deal active on my ED rewards card which automatically stacked with the 10% off and free delivery. I then paid with 5% discounted eGift cards plus the $40 back as well as $5 from referring a mate to CW.

    Not bad I say

  • im spending $125 and says the code is not available for me - anyone else have this issue on a new account?

    • Please read the post. The code requires a $150 spend :)

      • $150 I only get 10% discount… Have read the description.

        • +2

That's correct. So what's the problem?

        • @tightarse:

Ahh ok Its not working in pick up.. Only delivery is working with the discount.

  • Tracked super quick too. Pity I didn't remember free delivery and selected collect

  • If one of my items becomes unavailable and can't be replaced, taking the order value on delivery below $120, will cashback still apply? Just realised something in my cart is now showing up with no stock! Thanks

  • Took me ages to get $90 worth of stuff into my cart. Already have heaps of loo paper, not sure what to get next. Can I purchase alcohol for delivery in QLD?

  • +1

This is my time using cashrewards, I went to the website and shopped for $150 worth on woollies website. The 10% coupon code worked, but how do I get the $40. The My Rewards Balance on cash rewards has a $0 balance. Thanks

    • I have the same question

  • +1

Apology for not making sense in my previous post, it's not easy to type on a small phone. I just got an email from cash rewards confirming the woollies transaction and the $40 reward.

    • Hmm I shopped in the morning, but haven't received a confirmation from CR yet..

      • Damn, just for $39.5 refund from woolies as they don't have stock. Now I can't get cashback? =\

        • mixed feedback on this. You may still get it.
