Looks like a pretty decent deal if you're into the Civ games. BTA also includes 25% off Civ 6.

20% off the standard version and 25% off the deluxe version
Still works out about AUD62.50 for the standard.
Does anyone have trouble activating the DLC for civ 5? It says I need the base game first (which I already have)
Ninja edit: You need "Brave New World" and "Gods and Kings" activated first.
Edit: Ignore this. I am stupid.
So is this ALL the DLC for Civ 5? like same as GOTY edition?
I just added the DLC pack and It the code came up as product "DLC - all" so I would say yes. Just make sure you activate BNW and G&K FIRST.
From what I've read about this game, my life is about to be over.
Just. One. More. Turn.
I've always wanted to have a go at these games but they were constantly $50-80+ each at the stages I looked into them. This is amazing.
You're guaranteed to get your money's worth with these games. Civ4 alone has 1000 hours of gametime with all the mods available, all for $1!.
$1.30 in Australian pesos.
So roughly 0.13 cents AU per hour.
as somone who likes these sort of games but never tried Civ would Civ 3 or 4 be better as a starting point?
They all play a bit differently. There are certain features in 3 that will frustrate you that aren't in 4 or 5, like pollution. I probably prefer 4 over 5, but have a soft spot for 3 because it was the first one I bought.
As someone who just paid the $15 level, what game would you recommend me started off with?
Is it worth pouring 100 hours into 5 and then going back to 3 etc? Would I be too annoyed at the graphics/features?
I guess just play them in order? Games in 3 can take forever though, so maybe just play one or two from each game to see what you like.
5 is probably the easiest to get started with; I'd argue that 4 has some better features but is slightly less user friendly (combat and unit movement was overhauled in 5 and makes for a more enjoyable game IMO).
Since you paid $15 and got Beyond Earth, it might even be worth starting with that one. It's the most different of the lot, and has slimmed down mechanics so would be easier to pick up. Civ 3/4/5 with all the expansion features can be a bit overwhelming at first!
No.
My view is that Civ 4 and 5 are FAR more newbie friendly. Civ 3 has a lot of mechanics that are difficult to handle. I also find Civ 4 and 5 toned down the difficulty quite a bit (which is what you need if you are new). I would suggest starting with Civ 4. I really like Civ 3 though for its challenge.
I've got everything except Beyond Earth or whatever, but that didn't review too swell. Anyone have any thoughts?
Beyond Earth is bad. I bought it discounted, and regret the purchase. Don't bother.
Yeah I had a feeling I would regret it :'(. Concept seemed so cool, I guess delivery wasn't.
I didn't think it was terrible.
Just no comparison to the mainstream franchise. That's probably a fair comment. But the rest of the franchise is so good that why would you waste time on a substandard release? You're better off replaying Civ 5 or 6 over spending time in this one.
is this the cheapest source for civ6 now?
if not, then where? If you haven't bought it yet, I'd wait till all the DLC was released. I got Civ V for $10-$15 with all the DLC about three-four years ago. At least by that stage, everything was fixed and you got a more complete game with the expansions.
Civ6 is not part of this deal.
theres a discount code for civ6 as part of the deal.
to be honest, ive never been one to play all of the expansion missions. classic civ is where it is at (for me).
I saw that 25% off just after I posted and was just editing my post before you replied :)
It's $60-80USD on the humble bundle store, requiring a ~8USD purchase. Considering it's been cheaper on the usual resellers websites, I don't think it's particularly a good deal if you are fine using some of those other websites. Although if you had to buy it today, it's looking like it may be the cheapest.
For what it's worth my partner and I put in over 200 hours into Civ 5 the last year. We both got Civ 6 and just really couldn't get into it and prefer to play Civ 5 when we want a civ sesh.
We also only play classic Civ with our agreed set of starting options, scenarios are not for us either.
It's worth noting that Civ 6 is region locked. So be careful where you purchase as it won't activate if it's the incorrect one.
Nice find. Thanks for posting. AI in Civ 4 was just right in my opinion while AI in Civ 5 seems to cheat more even at lower levels. Having said that though, both Civ 4 and Civ 5 are addictive games.
Where is superior Civ2?
one of the best games of all time!
No original Civ?! I saw many sunrises from playing that way too long. :)
That damn Gandhi
I just bought the $15 one and got all the codes but they DO NOT WORK for us Australians.
Only Civ III worked. All the rest said something along the lines of: "This product is not available for your country."
Did anyone else have this issue?
Is your address/country in Humble account settings correct?
Yes, definitely correct. Although I did buy it at work and we use a Singapore IP address. Could that have been the problem?
Although I got it from the standard Humble Bundle store - direct link from OP here.
If you want A digital copy of Civ VI your best deal will be Green Man Gaming. Otherwise the standard edition will cost $77 in oz on special
Damn, looks like I only need the Brave New World DLC to complete my set.
Steam price is USD $49.99, thats crazy :P
I thought USD $8 was too much :/Lots of pissed off Civ fans on steam at the price hikes. Would prefer a season pass like Bethesda Fallout and Deus Ex
CIV6 has been out for a while, so why not a GOTY edition with everything for a reasonable price. Thats how i usually pick things up.
Well, when the complete version hits $10 anyway ;)
Thanks! Been waiting for Civ IV to go on sale!
I'm just very clueless about humblebundle though - I thought I'd be able to download a mac version of the game.
Is that possible? You get Steam keys for each game. I just had a look, the Steam page of Civ IV and V shows the icons for both Windows and Mac so yes, there are Mac versions for you to download.
Definitely a good deal. I bought Civ 5 and beyond earth on steam for $40 a year ago and still play it with my friends/
Is Civ on the Xbox One? I heard Microsoft might try to bring it over as an exclusive version for console. Correct me if im wrong.
Hi
I know this deal is over but I wanted to know if anyone knows if CIV IV complete is the same as CIV IV + Warlords + Beyond the sword + Colonization?
Since I own CIV IV + Warlords + Beyond the sword + Colonization I wanted to gift the CIV IV "complete" to a friend but wanted to check that I am not missing anything first.
Looks interesting, but the deal comes up at 20% off Civ VI (not 25%).
