anybody know who offering the best 6 month term deposit rate at moment?
Best 6 month Term Deposit?
Comments
For 6 months, I wouldn't bother with a TD. ING Direct will get you 3% variable. Just deposit $1000 per month (Can withdraw it again)
Ubank Term Deposit - 2.71% for 6 months. (When you renew a TD, you also get a 0.10% bonus).
While ME Bank may provide slightly higher rate at 2.75%, based on my experience, the cons outweigh the pros. You still need to apply via form, it is a manual process, and they can take time to process your form. Which means there is a possibility your funds are sitting idly waiting for them to process.
With Ubank, the application process is automated (assuming you already have a Ubank account), so it is fairly hassles-free.
I am assuming you want a fixed rate, hence term deposit; otherwise, Ubank's transaction and savings combination will give you 2.87%, for balances of up to 200K, with the condition of a minimum $200 deposit per month.
Hope this helps.
