Uncertain it's on special or an error, I ordered one pair with other items and the system confirmed the order.

Just bought a pair click and collect. Will see if it works out

  • +2

I bought one too! Lets see what happens lol

  • +15

lol definitely an error, it will probably be a hassle to get your one cent back too

    • +2

I'll consider it a donation to the Australian economy.
      Order confirmation received lol

      • +1

How is it a donation to the Australian economy? They are owned by a South African company these days.

    • +4

It's worth 1 or 2 cents to see if they honour it. If they don't. Big deal.

  • +4

    Bought 10000000000000. Thanks OP.

    • +12

      Is that you, Broden?

    • +6

Worst way to spend a hundred billion I can imagine…

  • I wonder if you can walk into a store and buy it for this amount. Wouldn't they have to honour it if it's on the website ?

    • +1

If it scans up at 1 cent then it shouldn't be on the floor. 1 cent items = going to charity and they'll refuse to sell it. They don't have to honour the price on their site either, especially for 1 cent.

  • +30

    Sizes available 6 & 9. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • +1

Just bought two navy pairs as the tan I couldn't click and collect. I think all of our orders will be cancelled and money refunded! A whole 2c! lol!

OP - How did you find it. When I go to sale items and list from lowest to highest price. The lowest price item is $3.45

    • Sales - > Current Offers - > All Current Offers - > Sort by price (low to high) - > On the 3rd page.

      • Ah! Nice!

  • +6

This will be like that duffle Bag saga.

  • +10

    Not even gonna bother trying

  • +2

C&C not available in ACT. :P

I hope everyone crashes their system, after all their site is managed by IBM.

  • not this shit again…they're just gonna take your money and make you call them to get your 1c back (which most people won't be bothered to do)…such a scam.

    • +3

They have to come up with all means before Amazon comes to Australia and makes them go bust

  • +19

Paid with paypal… says when paying if they need to refund they will issue you a gift card… look forward to my 2 cent gift card lol

    • +1

i disputed through paypal with the duffel bag, and it got refunded into my account.

  • +1

Is it mens or womens sizing?

  • No stores in WA are available for click and collect :'(

    • Wow that was fast! I managed to click and collect a pair from Karrinyup about 10 minutes ago but it must have been down to the line.

      • +1

Should've got two and sold me one hahaha

    • Just got three click and collecet from Hay St.

      • How? It still says not available.

        • Not sure. It had them as available for Hay St, some available at somewhere else and none at the rest.

  • how can u be unsure if its an error or not? I call error 100% DJ's sells nothing for 1c

    • It's clearly an error.

  • I can't even add it to my cart

  • Someone gonna get fired

  • +2

basically dj's will get lots of cents from the people who cant be bothered getting a refund + they now have an ad on the front page of ozbargain

  • +1

LOL, got 2 tan boots size 9 for c&c. Got the order confirmation email already. Now to wait and see whether it gets fulfilled :P.

I was initially thinking whether to go through cashrewards and use my discounted gift card but used PayPal instead :D.

I tried again after and it's not available for anything now.

even at 0.01c these 'slipper boots' are not worth it :)

no mention of materials other then synthetic sole……….

    • +4

      They're Suede

  • +2

It will probably be similar to this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/278966#comment. After they say it's a price error, it will be a pain to get a refund. Seems they are starting new funding campaigns. ;P

  • +4

horray success managed to set a pickup from store :)
    hopefully they fit

  • -1

Just gonna sit right here and and wait for people to start whinging that DJs is refusing to honour this price error and slow to refund their whole $0.01.

  • Error:Sorry, an error has occurred while trying to retrieve the inventory status of this product.

  • +1

Burwood and Sydney CBD stores don't have stock for C&C.

  • No stores have stock

  • +2

Remember to buy 30,000 pairs to claim GST

  • +3

Of all stores, David Jones is one that would never ever honour a price error, especially $0.01 ones, even if you successfully paid or selected click&collect store/date. You have better luck with Kogan.

  • +1

    Don't get your hopes up!

  • +12

Obviously a price error, get this trash off the front page.

    • +2

I disagree. Having benefited from price errors posted here in the past that were upheld I don't see why this shouldn't be upvoted. As with all price errors just be prepared to wait a long time for your money if the item isn't shipped.

      • +2

If they didn't honour a bunch of crappy bags the last time, there's no reason to think they will honour this either. No one, and I repeat no one is getting any suede boots at 0.01c. I'm happy to be proved wrong.

        • +6

of course they're not getting any at 0.01c, they're getting them at 1c

        • @blighst: 🤣

      • +2

I agree with you , I got a 3x4 pack of holeproof undies from DJ for $3.50 which was honoured on a pricing error when they should have been $24.50 per pack . Probably wont go thru this time but theres no harm in trying , what have I wasted 3 mins of my time !

  • cant get it

  • i cant get it, its out of stock on all sizes

  • +7

This is just another way of getting people to register for a DJ account. Item will get cancelled with a price error excuse and you will end up making few couple of dollar phone calls to get you 1c back. Pure time waste. THIS DEAL NEEDS TO BE REMOVED!!

    • +9

Who still pays for phone calls? Literally 90% of plans on the market have unlimited or limits so high that you will never reach them with regular use.

      • Yeah but some people actually value their time.

        • If they valued their time, they wouldn't be wasting it with David Jones.

      • +1

Please go ahead and use your unlimited plan to refund your 1c.

    • they wont get that many new people to register anyway. The ones trying to complete the transaction will be mostly the same people on the duffle bag deals :)

  • RIP.

Error:Sorry, an error has occurred while trying to retrieve the inventory status of this product.

  • +3

    RIP

    WASTE OF TIME

  • Market, ELIZABETH
All items are not available at this store

    Where do they have

    • +1

still stock in Wollongong. Good luck :)

      • Thanks. Don't want to go that far
        Now
        Out Of Stock

  • +9

Just got a call from David Jones where i selected click and collect. They said it was a system error and will be refunded to me.

Don't bother even trying, too good to be true.

  • +2

"Please note for purchases made using PayPal if you choose to refund the item the refund will be supplied as a David Jones Gift Card"

    interesting

    • +4

Actually would believe this is illegal.

  • Just ordered 2 pairs C & C. Order confirmed, PU West Lakes Adelaide SA.

    • +5

dw mate just called form there and said they have none in stock lol

  • No Tan size 9 left in Sydney by the looks of it.
I just bought via click and collect size 9 Navy

  • Just got the phone call also. System error and never had the stock at my store to begin with. Worth a try

  • +3

Here is what David jones just sent me.

I am emailing regarding order 8*******, Suede Hugg Boots. I apologise but unfortunately we are unable to fulfil this order as the stock has been withdrawn from sale. Please contact customer service on 4252 5603 to arrange a refund.

    Kind Regards

Paid with PayPal, this is going to be fun.

  • +4

Just got the phone call also. System error and never had the stock at my store to begin with.

Also told me if I came into the store I can get my refund LOL.

Will just charge back with Paypal

    • funny thing is i got called as well to pick up 1c along with order cancellations lol
then i said do you even have 1c. then a long pause with response how did you pay for it ?
didnt catch the what they going to etc and end of conversation

  • Just got a phone call, order rejected. It was fun while it lasted, though. Two cents worth :D.

    • +1

Now to reverse that positive vote :)

Didn't even bother knowing they must have learned their lesson by now and it would just be waste of the time and money.

      • I agree I was the 3rd to click on the site for this deal but did t even bother just reading everyone's comments making me laugh

      Opened PayPal dispute

      • +3

Must be a David Jones employee who gave me a neg. Must want me to just give David Jones my 2 cents…literally!

    • Got my 2 cents back today. Hooray. Now to decide what to spend it on!

      • Some ideas or opinions?

        Just my two cents :p

  • +25

Got a call from David Jones saying they were cancelling the order because "we don't sell boots for 1cent" and that they can't do refunds for 1cent so I won't get a refund. I didn't mind, but the lady sounded really cranky. All said to her was "okay", but her tone of voice was narky, which I thought was unreasonable given it's their error. Not a great ad for DJs customer services.

    • Thats not nice, they should at least give you 5c back :)

    • +16

She's probably the lucky one to contact the 5k+ people who saw this post XD

    • Yep you help them discover a pricing error and you're the criminal!!! People can be rude!

  • -5

They should honour those who paid

    • +10

      No, they really shouldn't…

    • -2

      They really should

  • Thanks op, ordered C&C while sold out / expired.
Hope the DJ webmeister gets to keep all the 1c's.

    • +3

Got the refund call. I said they could keep the 1c; they sounded very happy!
Well now I've met my quota for one good deed for the day. Thanks again op.

  • I got a confirmation email saying stock was ready to pick up. Payment was successful. The stock was literally waiting for me at my click and collect store and was ready to collect. Then I got a call from DJ's today saying that they wouldn't offer me the shoes but were going to refund me or offer the shoes at a discount to the 55 dollar RRP. Can they legally do that? I said I don't want the refund I wanted my shoes. What are my rights?

I found this online for Australia:
    Wrong price
Where all units of the same item have been priced incorrectly or are scanning incorrectly at the register, the seller does not have an obligation to honour that price. In these circumstances, the seller is within its rights to correct the error at the register by offering you the item at the correct price (provided this is done before your payment is accepted).

A seller can’t attempt to correct the error or claw back any money after they have processed your sale and accepted payment, as the transaction (and the contract) is deemed complete at this point. Source: https://www.lawanswers.com.au/blog/australian-consumer-law-r…

    • Online stores have different terms and the above notes relate to physical goods at physical registers.

Online stores have terms and conditions which you accept when purchasing which allow for incorrect and erroneous pricing. The are well within their rights to cancel the transaction.

It was worth a shot but can you really be that shocked that they didn't go out the deal?

    • -5

Update on this, attempted to collect from David Jones. Had the collection email ready. Argument started. Sales person refused to process refund as my 1c will be rounded down to $0. Manager overhears. States incorrectly she cannot "legally" process the sale for 1c. (I had already paid I was just collecting) David Jones has never offered anything for 1c. I show her previous Ozbargain posts with David Jones.
She says why would we sell for 1c? I said clearance or something I have no idea. Offers me the shoes for 5. For arguments sake I cbf and give in and purchase for 5.
Get shoes, open box, wrong colour FML

      • +4

        Argument started.

Really? Was it really necessary to go and start an argument with their staff?
Legalities aside, you knew it was a pricing error already and so I think what you did is really wrong.

I show her previous Ozbargain posts

You're giving all of us Ozbargainers a bad name too!
