Another Lenovo deal — they surely are on the clearance mode. Received this email in the afternoon where they are advertising ThinkPad 13 @ $929, and links to their i7 model. Making way for the 2nd generation of ThinkPad 13 maybe (Kaby Lake, TB3), but these are great light weight laptops for students (no guarantee that it would be delivered before week 1 of uni though). Lighter than ThinkPad E470 but the CPU is one gen older.

Specs:

  • Intel Core i7-6500U Processor
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 13.3" FHD IPS
  • 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • 256GB SSD M.2

Currently there's no coupon code for it. Call (1300 557073) or Chat only according to the email.

  • I finally think this is a better buy than the Dell Latitude 13 or 14 7000. The price is just right and you get a new laptop instead of a refurbished one.

  • no GPU card?

    • +1

this is light weight and battery good for ~8 hours
if you need GPU etc, better looking at ThinkPad E470

  • I was actually just looking at this laptop on their website (listed for $1449!). Is it common for Lenovo to have random sales like this, with such large variations in price?

I would really like the yoga 460 for uni (currently listed at $1499), but the thinkpad 13 seems to fit by budget better atm.

you can get x1 yoga for 1.5k. pm me if interested.

      • Is the x1 yoga deal still available?

    • Yeah I'm hanging out for the Yoga 460. I really want the touchscreen and the pen! $1499 is a bit too much for me though. If a bit of a lower spec version goes on sale for closer to $1000 I'd defs get that.

    I see $1,449.00? I think I am missing something

Yes, you're not reading the title or the description.

  • I'll be looking at getting a new laptop for work soon, does anyone know if Lenovo can provide quotes for these kind of deals? HR moves slowly at my work so I would need to have a price locked in for at least a fortnight before they give me the go ahead buy it and be "reimbursed" by salary sacrificing the cost.

8 currently left in stock (source: Lenovo Chat)

my 8 year old desktop cpu is apparently still faster. come on intel. (profanity). i7 860.

  • Out of Stock folks :(

  • Online chat said "I'm really sorry, the ThinkPad 13 i7 model is out of stock. We have a similar deal on ThinkPad E470 laptop with i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. https://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/professional/thinkpad-… It's priced $969.00 inc GST and delivery".

  • Daaaamn

    That was quick

  • I have a TP13 … nice laptop … awesome keyboard.

I think it's a great buy for the price.

Or you can spend about $500 more to save a little weight (eg XPS13) and end up with a crappier keyboard.

  • I just got on the chat with the rep.

Asked to buy one, he did the order and send the approval to the manager but the manager has left for the day and once approved, an email would be sent out to me confirming my order. Most likely tomorrow.

I did ask whether there is enough stock, he confirmed that he had booked the machine for me.

Seems like there are more stocks around? or probably, I will just get a cancellation tomorrow.

    Hmhmhmhmhmhmhmhm

    • You cannot get cash rewards with these online chat orders can you? I have a quote for X1 Yoga, i'd buy instantly if I can get cash rewards as well.

      • Yep you cant.

X1 Yoga is a great laptop, but I am not ready to fork out $1,500 just yet. hahaha.

      • +1

Btw, why do you need a quote for the X1? why cant you just buy it from the website? its $1,100 off at the moment.

        • Because I have a better price than the $1749 sale price.

  • Really really like this model… If they had the option for a backlit keyboard, it would have ticked all my boxes!
