Here is a super cheap deal to Tokyo for $565 return with a full service airline in Vietnam Airlines over the travel period April/May 2017. The catch is its unfortunately only for Sydney departures.

Sydney - Tokyo (Narita) - $565 (via Hanoi with a 4hr layover both ways)

Sample dates: 19 April - 9 May, 24 April - 14 May, 10 May - 28 May, 10 May - 23 May

Now searching for these flights can be tricky as it only applies to flights departing Sydney -Hanoi (VN 786) which only departs Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Returning its the same deal as you need to hop on the flight Hanoi - Sydney (VN 787) which departs only Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Search within these parameters and you should find it!

      No idea what made his flight so bad, but he had pretty low standards. While he was saving for a house, he ate instant noodles and a small packet of chips everyday for like over a year!

  as a standard carrier VN airlines isnt too bad, its 'average' and far from premium carrier like Singapore, emeriates etc. would rather pay $565 to fly vn air than a on a $450 jetstar promo fare.
