  • This is a price increase. The 3.5L was $74 in November.

    • I wouldn't call it a price increase, although if you use the code, you are certainly paying more now than the occasion that you reference. Just a smaller discount. $74 with a 25% off code, down from $99. This is 20% off, also down from $99.

  • OP, will the 3.5Ll accessory kit fit the 5.5L air fryer? Images look identical. Would rather pay $9.95 than $34.95!

the dimensions of 2 of the 3 accessories are the same 5.5" and 6.5"…. it's only the accessory with handle which is not documented on the website… maybe OP can advise

      • The fact that two are identical makes me think that all three are identical.

Hello, I can confirm the fish pan is a different size.

  • how well built are these compared to say tefal/philips' airfryers? do they do as good as a job 'frying' as the other brands do too?

    Whats the deal with these?
A friend demo'ed it to me with some air-fried chips. Yum.
But I can do the same thing in a regular fan-forced oven.
In the big oven, I have to spread them out in a single layer on a rack. In air fryer they were stacked. But the wall oven is so much bigger, that's no problem.

OK, that was just one test. Whats the difference?

I have a Kitchen Chef air fryer although it looks different to this one.
It is just a small fan forced oven. Nothing more. The whole "air fryer" thing is a stupid marketing name. Being so small it does heat up very fast so I would expect it to be quicker than a regular oven (certainly quicker than my gas oven).
In saying that I think it is great and use it daily. 3 hashbrowns in the morning on full take 10-12mins from frozen depending how crunchy you want them (no, not all for me). I have also cooked whole chicken breasts in them.
Don't expect chips to turn out as well as deep fried though.

      • I have the exact same unit.3.5 l from here. Works good but only complaint is the fry tray doesn't seat properly making it hard to turn on. You have to bang it on the bottom. No problems with heading the table

  • Bought the 3.5L a couple of months ago, was so excited to do fresh fries on it.
They turned out soft, some slightly crisper, it took almost double the time it was reccomended by the manual for the amount of fresh small cut ships.
Next option is to try the frozen ones but they wouldn't be as healthy to eat.
Plus base gets very hot, no good for my marble bench.

    • There is apparently a particular technique for using fresh potato. This is what i remember reading:

      • Cut chips thinly
      • Soak in water for 30 minutes
      • Dry them well
      • Put tablespoon of oil in fryer
      • Dont over fill container

I personally use frozen ones, so haven't tried it personally.

      • Thanks,
I did just that as it says that in the booklet but no luck :(

Frozen ones work great. No more than 12 mins with 2 min pre heat.

Tried to make shoestring fries using potatoes and above technique and no luck. I did maybe 40 mins..Ends up limp and black spots. If I had 15mins they would of been similar to boiled potato chips
