Hey all.

Was looking into maybe buying Minecraft and thought I'd have a look on the Windows store to see how much it is there.

Currently $12.29, and free if you have a Mojang account with Minecraft on it as per the instructions link

Downsides are that it won't work with anyone playing on the original version, nor will it let you connect to third party hosted servers. You can however LAN and play online with friends through Xbox Live and play with people using Pocket Edition too.

All in all, if you're like me and only want to play with friends (that already have Minecraft) this is a decent deal considering they can upgrade for free too (and still play their old accounts).

Hopefully y'all don't go too harsh on me being a first time poster.

    Yes, because you wouldn't need to deal with the Microsoft store, or Windows 10. Sounds like winning to me!

  Note that if you own a copy of Minecraft on PC/Mac, you get the Windows 10 edition beta for free:

  Even on the Microsoft store it says:

  "Free Windows 10 version available to existing PC/Mac Java owners!"

  Now, it only mentioned the beta version so I'm not sure if the free offer is still available when it is now out of beta.

  The windows 10 version has some amazing hardware acceleration going on. I was getting 60fps/1080p on a bay trail atom.
