Braun Series 7 760cc-4 Shaver $191.20 @ Shaver Shop eBay

200
CATCH20

Another pick from the CATCH20 series.

Been looking for one of these bad boys for a while but without the discounts it's a big price to pay. For $191 I could justify to upgrade so why not to share with the ozbargainer blokes or even the ladies looking for a great gift.

The 2nd cheapest price I could find other than this was close to the original $239 without the further 20% CATCH20 and the eBay Cashback.

Even though Braun series 9 shavers are out, it still seems series 7 scores better reviews due to their shave comfort and 5 min fast charge feature for the much better price tag.

A quick review to watch Braun Series 7 - Update Review

The $20 Braun Clean & Renew Cartridge Refills 2 Pack with the 20% refill is again the cheapest (on eBay I checked) but somehow the $7 shipping didn't get bundled and waved when I tried to grab some. The refill should go for couple of months with the regular use (which apparently cleans the unit fantastically), however, if you can't justify the $10 per 2 months, you might be able to find some 3rd party man cave invention articles on how to make your own solution :)

  • Altho the shaver is good, the "clean and renew" cartridges are a joke - mine had evaporated before I even had a chance to use it!
Bit like very expensive proprietary ink catridges for printers - they suck you in with cheap price for the printer!

    • +2

Do you keep the lid of the cartridge and put it back on after each clean? I only use the clean function once a week and each cartridge lasts 6+ months.

    • +1

The Clean and Renew cartridges can be washed out, and replaced with a blend of methylated spirits and 1 or 2 drops of essential oils of your choice.

Check it out here > http://www.electric-shaver-guide.com/braun-cleaning-solution…

        Isopropyl alcohol, not metho!

        • +1

I use methylated spirits because its much cheaper.
You're not drinking it, why should it matter ?

Buying isopropyl alcohol at $10 per 345ml from Chemist warehouse http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/40678/Isocol-Rubbing-…, might as well spend a bit more and get the proper cartridge refill.

Compare that to buying methylated spirits $12.57 for 4 litres.

        • +3

@furryberry: Isopropyl evaporates without residue. Metho leaves behind additives which may or may not affect the shaver depending on that the additives are.

Highly recommended. I've been using one for around two years. I use about 2-3 cartridges a year at $20 each.

    • Thanks. I have high hopes. Never had much luck with the electric shavers due to combination of a massive Adams apple, skinny face and sensitive skin. Always bought the top of the end stuff but eventually found the $2 each Gillette's dinosaur 2 blade the best and been doing that and a cut throat if I got time for years now. Anything fancier burns the face and pimples inside pimples :D After Gillette turbo or Philip's any top model shaver, my face would look like a war zone.

Always been curious about Braun as it's totally a different electric shaver method.

Btw, do you close the lid for the solution as our folks mentioned?

      • +1

I remove the cleaning cartridge and put the lid back on after every cleaning cycle (I do it once a week). This way the cartridge lasts a lot longer. Otherwise it just evaporates too quickly.

Thanks for posting this deal, it is a great price (purchased yesterday once I saw the deal).
I currently have the same model, had it for several years. Works great for me, I especially like the cleaning part. I unfortunately broke mine a little bit (the trimmer got stuck and I pushed on it too hard so it broke). So this deal came at the right time!

        • My pleasure. Thanks for the tip

    • By any chance do you have a pronounced Adam's apple?

I bought an electric shaver for about $250, and it is not good when shaving not just the sides of the Adam's apple and around corners of jaws. Quite a good shaving on the face, though.

I'm thinking of trying to return mine but not sure I get find any better without paying way more.

  • Hi, The clean and renew are cheaper by $3.67 (thats taking into account the 20% off from shaver shop) from http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171090509524 . If you purchase 2 lots you save a further 10% from the seller, then if you use the eBay code CAU10 you can save an additional 10%. I just paid $71.03 for 4 cartridges (or $17.75 each).

    • The link I provided is a dual pack though, which without the discounts if shipping included would be $14 dollars. Unless I'm missing something here.

      • +1

Sorry, my mistake in calculations and I didn't save as much as I thought because I added the postage cost to each of the items from Shaver Shop.

        I purchased 4 boxes from the new seller listed (8 cartridges in total) which came to $71.03 shipped ($87.70 -$8.78 -$7.89) . The equivalent from SS would be 4 boxes $74.04 ($16.76 x 4 = $67.04 + $7 shipping).

I have been using the Braun system for 12 years now, so stocking up on these is not a worry for me.
