    Sex tea? Please explain

    • your Tea's Sex Tea was created to give those in need, a little helping hand. To fire up the sex drive and reignite the passion in the belly of those who have lost their “mojo”.
Ingredients in Sex Tea have been used to assist with, enhancing libido, assisting with sexual stability, addressing root of libido issues and stress/anxiety relief.

      • +1

        And those ingredients are?
        Bold claims require solid evidence.
Prove those ingredients aid sexual function. Describe tbe amounts. Link studies…

        • Pfft, there's always one…. give it a shot and see what happens I say. There are some good formulas out there for us old farts who can't find our libidos in the sock drawer any more.

          @EightImmortals:
If there was any thing in this, even the whiff of a possibility of safe, provable, marketable drugs from these ingredients, the pharmacy industry would be all over it. Why? Because money. Lots and lots of money. Pfizer made three fortunes from Viagra.
Money talks, bullshit walks, or in this case gets marketed as sex tea.

        • @King Tightarse: OK so in that case I guess you can provide the undeniable scientific proof that disproves those ingredients aid sexual function? Link studies…

Thought so. If I needed 50 bux worth of tea I'd give it a shot for sure, never know till you try. In the meantime I'll stick with my NOW Sports tribulus extreme. :)

Contains: Herba Ophioglossi, desertliving cistanche, Epimedium brevicornum herb, liquorice root, Peruvian ginseng, Chinese Green Tea, Red Dates

Herba Ophioglossi (sometimes known as Adder's tongue) - Great for abdominal distension, and acute conjunctivitis

desertliving cistanche - Aids in reducing fatigue, and also has some uses for menopausal symptoms
Cai, RL; Yang, MH; Shi, Y; Chen, J; Li, YC; Qi, Y (2010). "Antifatigue activity of phenylethanoid-rich extract from Cistanche deserticola". Phytotherapy research : PTR. 24 (2): 313–5. doi:10.1002/ptr.2927. PMID 19610039.
Zhang, C.Z.; Wang, S.X.; Zhang, Y.; Chen, J.P.; Liang, X.M. (2005). "In vitro estrogenic activities of Chinese medicinal plants traditionally used for the management of menopausal symptoms". Journal of Ethnopharmacology. 98: 295–300. doi:10.1016/j.jep.2005.01.033

Epimedium brevicornum herb (sometimes known as horny goatweed) - research has demonstrated that injections of Epimedium extract directly into the penis of the rat results in an increase in penile blood pressure (Chen, KK; Chiu, JH (2006). "Effect of Epimedium brevicornum Maxim extract on elicitation of penile erection in the rat.". Urology. 67 (3): 631–5. doi:10.1016/j.urology.2005.09.051. PMID 16527595)

However its use as an ORAL supplement is not proven.

liquorice root - There is some evidence of a use as a laxative / stomach relaxant in Shibata, S (October 2000). "A drug over the millennia: pharmacognosy, chemistry, and pharmacology of licorice.". Yakugaku Zasshi. 120 (10): 849–62. PMID 11082698.

However, most evidence indicates if it is given orally very little of the original drug makes it into circulation

Peruvian ginseng - Is not actually ginseng at all. Ginseng belongs to the Panax genus, Peruvian Ginseng, or rather Maca, belongs to the Lepidium genus, and is more closely related to the turnip, rutabaga or radish. There is no evidence to suggest that Maca assists in sexual function. However there have been some studies into its effects on menopause symptoms.

So basically if you have a case of pink-eye, or constipation, inhibiting your sex life, or if you or your partner is a menopausal women, then this tea is for you.
(or if you are willing to inject this tea directly into your penis)

        • @EightImmortals:
Viaga. Sure anyone can. It was invented by Pfizer in 1998.
It is one of the most famous and well studied drugs in the world, registered with every major drug control agency and studied ad nauseum. Much like asking if anyone has heard of aspirin. I could link you any number of studies but in this case it's so famous the Wikipedia entry will do.
You want more? Just Google it. Don't blame me if you get special marketing afterwards. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sildenafil

        • @King Tightarse:
No thanks, I was after the study that showed that this particular Tea was effective for the claims made.

If you need Viagra then go for it. Way too many side effects for me. :)

        • +1

          @EightImmortals:
          Haha not there yet.
Oh I see what you mean.
Well it is generally held that the burden of proof lies with the claimant.
IE someone makes bold claims, it is up to them to provide evidence.

        • @King Tightarse: Me either!

          Anyway…dinnertime….cyas

        • +1

          @King Tightarse:

It was invented by Pfizer in 1998.

Surely it is a copy of Vigara, invented in Nigeria. Frequent emails from there offer me huge discounts.

        • you know what happens with Viagra if you didn't really require it? You get a stick for like 4 hours straight.
Imagine your arms doing bycep curls for 4 hours! Your arms hurt a lot afterwards.

        • @supnigs: There are a couple of clips around of how the ER doctors deal with sticks that wont go away…not pretty. Nope, not pretty at all.

Hey if the Tea or the viagra doesn't work I just got an email from a crowd called 'purple rhino'. Apparently it's the '#1 Male enhancement system' and I can get it without a prescription! I'll never be a '1 minute man' again! Which is awesome cos the next email I got is telling me all about 'attractive Asian women looking for love NOW!'

(Gawd how does crap end up in my junk folder every day?)

        • @EightImmortals: stick won't go away..oh sheeeeeet

        • +2

@supnigs: A photo of Whoopi Goldberg may help.

    • Negging because far lower prices for almost identical products abound in absolutely every Australian supermarket. For example …

      https://int.yourtea.com/products/pure-chamomile?_ga=1.221657…
Your Tea Pure Chamomile - 25 teabags $13.95
      https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Browse/drinks/herbal-spec…
Nerada Organics Camomile Organic Herbal Infusion - 40 teabags $3.50 … a significant saving.

Hence Associated OP's description lacks example bargains while obfuscating the value with an offer conditional on spending $50. Admittedly, supermarkets offer nothing extra that implies it may cause involuntary tumescence of my nameitnot.

Excuse me,but what's in the sex tea?

    • Contains: Yi Zhi Jian, Rou Cong Rong, Yin Yang Huo, Gan Cao, Ren Shen, Green Tea, Hong Zao

        Amounts? Dilution?
Credible studies proving your claims thanks.
Prove those ingredients aid sexual function. List the amounts of active ingredients
Could be lawn clippings so far

        • Contains ginseng. That helps with energy

        • The tea has cistanche… Can't speak from experience but a double blind study is here from an 'alternative medicine' journal (the product has cistanche in it). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24146455

Anyway, I reckon you'd be hard pressed to beat the OP's deal, give it a shot

        • +1

          @valuehunter:
That study of the use in subjects with ED - should be with a standardised amount likely to be many times what is contained in this tea.

That study says nothing about the effect of a minute amount served as tea. The ingredients may be from a different sources with different effect. Also there may be no effect by drinking the tea, over the administration method in that study. Unfortunately the abstract does not give that information.

        • +1

          @supnigs:
There are many types & grades of Ginseng. Simply claiming it includes it, does not say it will have any effect. Certainly will be extremely diluted as a tea.

        • @Infidel: no idea, but say if you are at a restaurant and decide on something that contains truffle oil do you question the chief about quality/origin/amount used?

        • +1

          @supnigs:
Yes - a reputable chef will happily provide the information. I've asked to discuss ingredients with chefs & always had a great response.

Like any professional, they may be delighted to discuss their chosen field & ingredients they choose. (Have received a free meal for 2 after one wonderful discussion.)

Like truffles, the quality differs by region, age, etc. Different ginseng has different medicinal values (& prices). So the ingredients for medicinal purposes is more important than than gastronomic.

        • @Infidel: ah okay. So how much and which type of ginseng do you require to stay aroused for 3 minutes?

        • @supnigs:
          Aspiring to great heights - 3 minutes😀
But I won't give advice for a possible medical or commonly psychological condition. That assessment should be undertaken first.

Ginseng isn’t one particular plant or root, or even a particular family of plants. It’s just a collection of various shrubs across the world, that are labeled as a form of ginseng when they exhibit some effects on human health, and even those are varied

I got to know about the differences & qualities of different ginseng as I once was treated effectively with Siberian Ginseng (had to look up script) made by Mediherb as a liquid of known quality & origin - for a condition so different to ED.

Have visited the Ginseng growing fields in Korea.
From what I could gather, the Ginseng that looked like a man with a big phallus was dearest & highly recommended😀

        • @Infidel: I initially thought you knew of an imperical amount.

      • +4

Here is a list of ingredients using the Western names:

        Ophioglossum
        Cistanche
        Epimedium (aka horny goat weed)
        Licorice Root
        Ginseng root
        Ziziphus jujuba (Red date)

If anyone is more bored than I, feel free to look them up and report back :D

        • +5

So you get a couple of roots out of it then?

        • +1

          @Colin2905: Not necessarily good ones.

      • +2

        Yi Zhi Jian = oysters
Rou Cong Rong = tiger penis
Yin Yang Huo = goat poo
        Gan Cao = blow fish
        Ren Shen = slimy eels
        Green Tea = marijuana
        Hong Zao = gorilla nuts

        looks legit.

        • You just made those up….didn't you?

        • @EightImmortals: It's also one of David Attenborough's recipes.

        • +2

No powdered rhino horn? No thanks.

      • +1

Why are these ingredients (above) different to what is listed on the purchase page for the tea?

        SEX TEA

Traditionally my ingredients have been used to assist with:

        enhancing libido
        assisting with sexual stability
        addressing root of libido issues
        stress/anxiety relief

Contains: Herba Ophioglossi, desertliving cistanche, Epimedium brevicornum herb, liquorice root, Peruvian ginseng, Chinese Green Tea, Red Dates

40 teabags per box. Each teabag weighs 2.5g.

Your listed ingredients include Ren Shen, which is Radix Ginseng.

  • Vendor in title please. That would make a nice change for you.

  • +6

    "Sex tea" riiiiiiiight.
So $50 box of nothing then wtf is "sex tea" supposed to be?
OP please describe the active ingredients and link studies showing their effacacy.
Else go peddle your mumbo jumbo nonsense elsewhere.
    Sex tea pfffft

Negging due to fake product, happy to withdraw if evidence shown.

  • +3

I am calling this out as total bulshit.
Tea that can improve sex drive due to non quantified "herbs/roots". Classic snake oil bull crap like that "slimming tea" scam years ago.
If the OP can prove the effacy of this tea with credible studies, I am happy to withdraw the neg. $50 for unproven nonsense?
    Not today buddy.

    • +1

Have a look at my link above, it's reasonably credible. Pun intended by the way.

      • +1

Not if the dose & ingredient are not the same as used in the study.

There is a big difference between a controlled study (which should use standard doses of the actual herb) against a diluted tea that says it contains (an undisclosed but likely low dose) of a herb that is said to be the same.

Herbal medicine has problems of substituting similar ingredients with very different medicinal values.

The study of the effect on ED was a self report study - may not be reliable.

Also the placebo raised the reported erection level (to a lesser extent).
So much of the effect of Sex Tea is likely to be in the imagination.

    • So try it for yourself and report back?

    • +1

They're selling snake oil - must be good as I've heard all about it. Must buy now😯

    • Can't be that tight, sounds like this deal managed to well and truly ram something up there.

      • I think this deal is rather flacid.
It would need a good dose of its own sex tea & a lot of luck to be able to ram anything up.

        • Well he sounds a bit too butthurt for something to not be up there.

  • +1

I don't see what the problem is. They're not charging $50 for the sex tea: it's free. Like a cuddly Teddy bear that says "I love you" that comes for free (no pun intended!) with a bunch of roses doesn't guarantee love. It's something romantic for free.

  • +2

Shhhh guys, you're ruining the placebo effect!

  • Looks like King Tightarse has a bad history with sex enchancer, LOL. Nothing works so far?
Anyway, Tongkat Ali and Maca works best for me, but Yin Yang Huo has no effect whatsoefer.
I agree that results can be different among different ppl

    • +1

      Old Scottish joke…

      - "Nothing!, it's all in perfect working order"

No deal. Can get real sex for less than that minimum spend. And a cup of tea afterwards.

    Or so I'm told.

    • +1

I would also prefer to teabag rather than drink this tea

  • +1

I've got this tea… did not get any sex
