I know people are complaining about price jacking etc but, regardless of any jacking, this price is cheaper than standard retail. It's nothing amazing, but the cheapest price I've seen in online stores (when no sales are on) is $630 (ish) + shipping.

  True, it's only good for local. Only thing is warranty - is MSI warranty global? I believe EVGA's is, not sure about MSI.

    Only EVGA has global warranty, no other gpu manufacturer.
    
    On the other hand, amazon is pretty good with returns. I had a few items I had to RMA even after nearly 2 years, and they simply refunded me the whole amount…after nearly 2 years of me using it.
    
    Although sadly, I hear the golden days of amazon customer service is slowly coming to an end

I purchased this card today from Futu along with other bits to form my new gaming rig. I was humming and harring about a 1080 but could not justify the significant difference in price. Happy with this card/price for local delivery/warranty.

Hmm. They didn't have X last time of the 20% off. Got it from Amazon a few days ago. Would rather get it locally.

I think it's a mistake because X and standard are the same price.

  Even scorptech have both the 1070 standard and 1070 X at $669 … they currently have the standard on special @ $659.

    I'd looked around but never imagined scorptec having the cheapest prices on anything. It's usually either MSY, CPL, or Umart. Occasionally Centrecom.
    
    I actually checked staticice a lot but to no avail, and gave up eventually.
    
    Actually at $669 it costs more than my Amazon order, which comes to around $100 less. Scared me for a moment there.
    
    But had I known Futu would stock the X for this price, I would have waited a few more days.
    
    The lowest I saw it for at Amazon was $400 USD plus around $16 shipping. That is still cheaper than this, but it's an import.

      Yeah sorry, I was trying to say that there is no price difference in the "standard" vs "X" at Futu or Scorptec. Seems Amazon has the same price for both as well (std vs x), the discounts are different (5% vs 7%). Amazon for me is coming up at $419 + 16p&h USD for either card. $400 would have been good!!

      If they're the same price everywhere, there's no point in having a standard Gaming version.

I've had my Gaming X 1070 since launch, and even though I paid like $729 I'm still happy with it. For $583 it's absolutely well worth the outlay
