  • Cashback cannot be earned if a gift card is used or the order is not completed online.

Bugger.. Where you reading that? Got a link?

      • in the general cashback guidance https://www.cashrewards.com.au/bws

        • That's just a link to the website, not seeing any info about not being able to combine the two. BWS is new to Cashrewards so i'm sure no one will have tested this yet. As others have mentioned below, it is possible through Dan Murphys so one would assume it would be through BWS too.

        • @gooddealmate: It's on that page…."General Cashback Guidelines"

I have never tried it so i cannot comment if it works or not, just what the T&C's say.

        • @Limitless:

I see why I don't see that info now, it only appears on the desktop site not the mobile.

Looks like we'll just have to wait and see then..

That's been on the Dan Murphy's page for ages. And it's never been applied. I've always used a gift card and whenever the cash back tracks properly, I get it.

      • Guess they can't really tell how you pay!

You CANNOT add the two % together, not the first time I had to explain this…..

    e.g.
    bottle costs $100, with gift card, 5.25% and cash back 5.6% = 100 * 0.9475 * 0.944 = 89.444

    (100 - 89.444)/100 = 10.56% off, not 10.85%

I'm glad we have a mathematics expert present. That 29c difference on a $100 order would have sent me broke. 😉 All good, thanks for picking up on it. I have edited the description.

      • You don't need to be a maths expert to understand multiplication lol

Actually in this case the gift card discount and the cash back are independent from each other so you would add them, not multiply

    • Vodafail - that's a fail.

Cashrewards cash back is on price shown as paid on receipt. The discount you receive should be on this price.

Price shown as paid on receipt is not reduced by purchasing gift cards for reduced price - still shows full price on receipt. Only you know how much you paid for gift card. You already have benefited from this discount when purchasing gift cards.

So % discounts are added in this case, as discounts are independent of each other - shown by aarons. Basic mathematical principle taught in high school. If the events weren't independent, multiication would apply as you proposed.

But academic if no cash back with payment gift card.

Also cashback isn't applicable on GST. So if it costs $110, the cashback is calculated on $100.

        • Cashback I've received on other purchases always was on retail price including GST.

General Cashback Guidelines do say that but unlikely condition - unless T&C have had major change resulting in reduction of rewards!

Paid DM by discounted Woolies gift card - got CR Cashback on full price (including GST).

Received a $10 CR Cashback for a purchase Telstra cancelled - I think that was against General Cashback Guidelines, but got paid.

Whenever I buy from Danmurphys and use cash rewards I still get paid the cash back .

  • I swear I've had $50 drop from my rewards balance in the past week or so on Cash Rewards. Has anybody ever had this happen to them?

  • Is anyone able to confirm if BWS is no longer available with Cashrewards, please? I'm no longer getting the "activate reward" popup - just with BWS, still okay with other stores.
