I got a pair of Hush Puppies about 6 months back when they had a sale on, recalling that they were a reputable and well respected brand. It would seem that in recent years their quality has declined massively and I am now in possession of a decidedly uncomfortable pair of shoes which are showing substantial wear on the soles.
I'd honestly struggle to recommend these at any price point; I literally prefer a $15 pair of shoes from Big W to the garbage I got from Hush Puppies.
Hush Puppies made owned by BrandCollective like Julius Marlow…
made
Based on experience, they're made using cheapest possible materials using cheapest possible manufacture.
Brand hoarding companies rely on legacy reputation of the companies they swallowed to determine how much they can charge for new goods whose quality is unrelated to original products.
My experience with shoes made by a Japanese licensee is complete opposite. So, not all Hush Puppies are crap, just the crap sold in Australia.
That's not really a great thing anymore… these brands seem to be slipping in quality… and ive got a couple pairs to unfortunately prove it
Some good prices there, but nothing quite right for me.
It's just the remaining stock from the previous sales so sizes will be very limited
Waiting for 30% off coupon. Even though they were $70 before, 30% off means they're actually $49.
No returns
The Australian Consumer Law and the ACCC will beg to differ. Never believe this tripe.
They are talking about change of mind returns.
Like 'doesn't fit'?
Yep, hence why I don't buy from Hush Puppies, or any other website that doesn't allow free returns.
If you were desperate you could 'mark' them and claim they arrived defective. I do not condone this, but it's why websites SHOULD offer free returns, to prevent defective items being returned to them!
@lainey13: Wow, agreed that's an incredibly crappy policy, esp with shoes! I prefer the online store that says "order your size + 1 size up/down and return the ones that don't fit for free and a refund".
From memory I think Betts, Airflex, etc do this.
The title is kind of misleading. Nothing over should not be used that lightly as it is not true.
I agree their quality is bad now. I keep buying hush puppies but last year's purchase only last me 6 months then the upper leather rip appart. No more hush puppies for me.
Same here. I bought a pair of shoes for my son to wear to school and they didn't last the first term.
any recommendation which brand to buy ?
I often buy Double Oak Mills dress shoes from The Iconic due to its price (my last 2 pairs were about $50 each) but they are getting too expensive for the given quality lately.
I'm actually impressed with some of the designs.
Too bad they don't have my size in the shoe i want.
