What happens to unused Aldimobile credit when you port out for a while

So I've just bought a Vodaphone Huawei Y6 Elite with the $40 starter credit and wanting to port my existing number to it that is currently with Aldimobile ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288299 ). I need to do it very shortly to get the $50 eftpos card credit back before the offer expires.

Trouble is I have some existing credit with Aldimobile, not a lot but would prefer not to lose it.

Question, has anyone ported out from Aldimobile when they still had credit, then ported back in again a few months later? Did the old credit still exist in your Aldimobile account when you ported back in?

Would normally ask via Aldi's ticketing system… but I cant find it on their site. They tell you to use the ticketing system but there appears to be no link to it, bizarre.

Edit: Perhaps should mention that it's prepaid credit on long expiry (365 days).

The moment you port out, you forfeit the credit. It is the same with every provider

You lose the credit straight off the bat
    no ifs or buts

secondly vodafone can void the eftpos gift card if you port out too soon from them
ensure you read the T/C before making any decisions on that part as well

    • Good advice, but I'd imagine I would spend the eftpos card fairly quickly after receiving it. The $40 credit would likely last me a few months anyway as I make very few calls, the data block size of 512kb might be an issue though.

  • Why not just activate the sim found in the Huawei Y6 Elite. When you get the $50 eftpos card put your Aldi sim back in.

    • Because I wanted to use the $40 credit with my existing number. I would be activating the Y6 included sim, but just porting my existing number to it.

If I lose my Aldi credit though I may just be better off to have two numbers for a while rather than porting.

      • Provided your callees don't reject Unknown Numbers, you can suppress caller ID by prefixing their number with #31# so that they don't see your temp number.

        • cool… didnt know that. Does that work with a sim from any carrier, or just Vodafone?

        • @Gravy: Works with all carriers.
