I'm Getting NBN Soon, Is It Better than ADSL2+ and Exactly How Fast Is It?

Hello,

So like the title says, I'm getting NBN soon from TPG 12mbps (to be exact 31st of January) and am wondering how fast is it compared to normal ADSL2+

  • All I know, is that with iinet I'm paying the same as what I used to for ADSL2, but getting lower speeds due to their cap.

  • My speeds went from 10/5 to 22/10.. Which is great.. Except the reliability of the connection has dropped so drastically, that I now pay an additional $65 a month for 4g backup. In the past I would get around 900 hours between disconnections, and now I average 3 hours.

  • Got Tier 5 speed with FTTP, getting 90+Mbps

  • If you have a reasonable adsl2+ connection then the base nbn plans offered by the big sellers will be slower with both up and download speeds. I had to step my plan up a level (and pay more) just to retain the similar speeds.

    • That doesn't sound right. I guess it would depend on what type of MTN you are getting NBN on.
