Spanbilt F83 2.8m X 1.07m Colour Garden Shed $269.10 (Free Depot Delivery) @ Cheapsheds eBay Store

Hi all,

I've been looking for a second shed for mower/bike storage and came across the Spanbilt F83 in 3 colorbond colours. It's 2.8m x 1.07m so a perfect sized second shed to tuck out the way. The Cheapsheds website currently have it for $375 (from the over-inflated RRP of $499) however their eBay store has it for $299 which was the cheapest around. Thanks to one of the current 10% of eBay codes it's $269.10 (46% off).

As with all these sheds there's free shipping to local depots.

I bought a larger Spanbilt tool shed earlier this year (for 50% off - neglected to put it up) and it's doing the job nicely.

These are a good size For tucking a couple
Along a fenceline. A good option to a yard hogging 3x4.

They do take a while to put together though. I found it to take a full day to assessble.

Agreed. Bought an "easyshed" from Costco, was everything but "easy".

    • Yeah my 9 sqm shed probably took about 15 hours in total but I did most of it alone. The pre-drilled holes make it pretty straight forward

  • Just so you know what you're buying. Don't think these are made from genuine Colourbond. Unless it has the colourbond brand printed on the sheets they are some other steel painted with Colourbond equivalent colours.

But considering they are half the cost of genuine colourbond with 15y warranty it might be worth it.

    • What is colourbond made from? Same same different brand?

      • BlueScope makes the steel, adds the Zincalume coating and then paints it all in Australia. It's a proven product and backed by a decent warranty.

As for the imported product you don't know what you are getting, nor how it will last over time.

Not to mention the latest generation of Zincalume and Colorbond has magnesium added into the metal coating to improve resistance to corrosion. I don't believe you will find that in the imported product…

        • Yes quality would be a major difference.

    • Yes this would appear to be a cheaper imported painted steel and not Colorbond. It's all well and good for a small mob to offer a 15 year warranty, but I'd put more money on BlueScope being around in 30 years time to honour their warranty…

  • It's staggering how much more pricey the coloured sheds (genuine or not) are than the identical unit in zinc…I picked up a 3x3m zinc at Bunnings on special for $299 a couple of weeks ago, when I asked about the coloured equivalent the price was quite literally double!!!

    I stuck with the silver zinc… ;)

  • Do you need to pour concrete slab before installing a shed? Can you just put it on top of grass and somehow anchor them to the ground?

    • I wouldn't put it on grass.
I laid pavers and put it on top of that. The shed comes with an anchor kit.

      • Is the paver there to keep things above ground level, in case of rain?

        • so shit doesn't go flying when the wind blows (provided pavers were a decent size and weight)

ideally you want a slab to give you a solid base, or at least sink some footings on each corner

        • @HeXa: thanks, makes sense.

  • What's the height of these sheds?

    • Wall Height 1.8m

  • bike shed? just use a bike cover, bugs gunna crawl into the shed and into your bike anyway

  • is this deal still active?
