Great discount and the cheapest aside from the HN Annex promo.
It's a great runners watch and looks good with the Flieger Type B watch face.
You might be right about a new model. Is there any indication of a new release?
Review at Tom's Guide: www.tomsguide.com/us/garmin-forerunner-235,review-3643.html and there is an in depth review at DC Rainmaker.
A new fenix range has been announced but at this level i dont think anything will be out until at least mid year.
I'd be sceptical of the battery life claims in the tomsguide review. As with phones, once you use the GPS for a while down goes the battery. I've an older model Garmin and I'll charge it to 100% before every decent running or biking activity. Don't lose your Garmin charging cable either. Other than that, really good watches and I'd buy this if I was looking for one.
I've had this watch about a year and absolutely love it! But you're right about battery usage - I normally charge about once a week with typical usage. But if using GPS frequently I get around 8-12 hours.
Note that GPS is only turned on when doing an activity (running, swimming, etc…) so it's quite workable.
There is also the Suunto ambit 3 sport for about $180, only in coral colour though. It has HRM but it's a chest one but it also does swimming. I probably would have gotten this if I realised but the suunto is pretty close for my needs and is $50 cheaper. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Suunto-Ambit3-AMBIT-3-Sport-GPS-W…
Must be a new range coming out.
At these prices if you are looking at something like this it's worth a go.
