  • What's the point of the blades are blunt.
How can I dice my watermelon

    • +20

Hi Jessie, this is not a trainer sword so the blade is not blunt. Your watermelons will be plenty diced.

      • +6

Real life fruit ninja here we come. Better than VR.

        • Mythbusters busted this myth. They used a robot and a real swordsman.

    That's a sharp deal!!!

I'm so cut up cos no matter how I slice the budget I cant afford it ATM.

      • +1

That's a shame but why are you talking to an automatic teller machine?

  • Is it all made in the US at coldsteel place?
    Even the handles?

    • This particular model is made in China.

  • Aren't these illegal if not blunt?

    • +8

No, these are perfectly legal in all states except Victoria in which you have to be a registered knife collector:

      http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Ente/Brin/Can-I-bring-it-back/…

      • +18

Unfortunately I'm in Victoria the biggest nanny state in Australia

        • Meh become a registered knife collector. I think you have to just join an association for a nominal fee.

  • Can i use this for home defense…lol

they are against the law in some states?

    • This all looks a bit irresponsible, some knifes are listed as " Everyday carry". Say what?

      • +2

Hi Sam, we do not condone taking a knife around unless you have an explicit reason to do so. The "everyday carry" thing is marketing from the US that the products come with.

      • Carrying a knife in public is perfectly legal provided you have a good reason to have it.

        • +1

I would love to hear the good reason to carry a Japanese type sword in public….

Iaido practitioner going to class via public transport / walking

        • @LowCostTraveller: swords are not knives and are prohibited weapons as opposed to controlled weapons here in Vic. Best to check your state laws as in Vic you need a permit or a letter from the chief commissioner.

    • +11

Legal everywhere except Victoria. Judging by your username this probably rules you out. Try defending your home with a good insurance policy :)

      • +28

Not sure how a thief will react if you show them your insurance policy

          Papercuts

        • lol…

home invasion seems to on the increase in Melbourne. My friend was bashed and locked his family in upstairs bedroom while apex gang ransack his home and stole his car

Yeah those apex ppl are getting out of control. They've gone as to cbd recently and ran sack stores. Current premier just bending over and spreading his cheeks wide

        • @thelastnoob: are u one of them Somali Apex? U guys are doing a great job with the spray painting

        • @Bargaingeek:
Funny story since you think I am one of these freaks is that my friend last night told me if they ever come to Brisbane he wants to borrow my cold steel sword to defeat them.

They should be put back on the next boat to Africa and they can try and act tough over there. The legal system is pandering to these scum that are ruining people's freedoms and killing others.

        • +3

          @thelastnoob:
I'm not interested in the politics but I know that if you were to defend yourself with one of these swords you would probably get charged with some BS infringement while the police are in their car catching someone going 4km/h over the speed limit

        • @Hirolol:
Yeah I agree and I would only ever take it out of my house if some loser is killing people outside which is highly unlikely
That said the police got me in trouble for foam nunchucks in my car boot which I had since i was 11.

I asked if it's ok to have a chainsaw and Rambo knife in my boot and he said that's fine because it's legal. They disposed of my foam nunchucks.

Whats the difference between this and those other chinese made ones for $50 on ebay?

  • Can you get the Dragonfly in stock?

    • +21

I've never seen a sword walking around trying to harm people…

    • +2

      yes

    • There are classes to teach you how to use japanese swords where you basically cut paper and bamboo and learn discipline etc. Not much different to other martial arts and is an extension to kendo.

It is also fun to cut paper, bottles of water, etc.

My used underwear after a hot summers day can also kill people. It's all about intent.

      • +1

although i prefer to sell my used underwear tho,

Sweet. Now I'll finally be able to impress the QT HB8 at EB Games with my blade skills and suave fedora.

    • Just don't behead anyone

  • That's a lot of slingshot money. Wait, I can't legally have those.
That's a lot of airsoft money. Wait, I can't legally carry those.

That's a lot of PS4/Xbox One money. I can legally buy those…and enact lots of virtual mass killings.
    Praise Be, Nanny $tate.

Good for, take your katana to work day
