UI looks good but features missing, you need a smartphone to use for example, voice-chat, parental controls etc.

    • It's possible Switch will flop hard.

What pains me is it proves again Nintendo is the only company that even cares to take risk and innovates.

Had they made some compromises and caught up with PS4/Xbone in terms of horsepower it would have been a totally different game.

32 GB storage fks sake it's not even enough for a phone in 2017.

To expect the user to spend another $100 on MicroSD after spending $469 on a console? LOL

Funny enough pre orders are selling out in Places

It's the same like Pokémon Go, it will drop like a hat

  • After thinking about this some more, I really think the main gripe I have with the Switch is the monthly subscription thing. Not because it is a paid subscription now, but that the included games we get each month are merely 1 month trials. To someone who is not interested in playing online, this equates to essentially having to pay for trial games/demos that you then have to pay for further if you want to keep playing. This is a bit of a punch in the face to their user base. I suppose you could argue that being smaller classic games, you may only need a month to play them but it still rings sour to me. The Xbox 360 included free trials for everything that was on XBlive arcade - a strategy that I'm sure helped make it become such a success. And the current norm is a subscription service gets you online play and free games which are kept as long as the subscription service is active.

If you're not interested in online, then don't buy the subscription?

Yeah, I did keep up my Xbox Live subscription though just for the games. Guess I won't be doing that if I get Switch.

Buy a Nintendo system if you want to play Nintendo games. Those with this mindset were treated to some of the best games of the last several years on the Wii U.

There's constant whining over the lack of games and yet, how many people own one console and play all there games? A minority I would assume? How many people completed all the first party Nintendo games on the Wii U?

You will have Zelda and 1-2-Switch at launch which are exclusive on Nintendo systems.

Then people complain that there's no Mario game at launch. Nintendo make the best games because they put so much time to get it right, the end result is one of the best games for the console. If you have no games to play, invest in a PC or second console.

How about the console's internal storage? Buy another micro SD card, if you can't afford that, then you shouldn't buy the Switch.

And there's payment for online. Where entering a time where everything is now a monthly payment, if you don't like it, don't purchase it.

The Switch won't be a failure, it's too diverse and functional at the moment.

It's never been about power, or which specs are bigger, if you think it's about that, don't buy Nintendo.

Buy Nintendo Switch for first party exclusive Nintendo games where you will be able to play fun multiplayer/co-op games so easily at home or on the go. It's simple. If you hate Nintendo games, why are you even reading?

Does it require a first day purchase? No. But I want to play Zelda! Then buy it. For everyone else wait until Mario comes out, because then you have exclusive access to 15 titles confirmed today:

    1-2-Switch
    Arms
    Fast RMX
    Fire Emblem Warriors
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
    Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
    New Frontier Days: Founding Pioneers
    No More Heroes sequel
    Seasons of Heaven
    Snipperclips
    Splatoon 2
    Super Bomberman R
    Super Mario Odyssey
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers
    Xenoblade Chronicles 2

    • This is also going to be the best VITA, so many RPGs already confirmed and lots of indie devs are trying to get their games on it.

Yes it does require day 1 purchase, early adopters will help major 3rd parties make more titles for us!

  • I was set on getting the switch to play on the plane from Adelaide to LA. But then I realised it's being released on the 3rd. I leave on the 2nd. Worst, timing, ever.

    • Bad luck :( Well at least u can buy it somewhat cheaper in LA if there is any stock, I am travelling Mid March to Japan, Singapore and Malaysia, if the rumoured release date was correct on the 17th I woulda missed out and bought one in Japan, but now I get to have it pre-travel!

  • For those interested in getting switch, costco will be selling them at below $450 with all accesorries and games. i confirmed this just now. (Called ringwood store but i am sure all stores would have them)

  • It's still a maybe at this point. :/ Looks great but the controller hands-on review made half of it's usage rather "meh"
