  • ♫ Don't believe the hype!

  • Argh missed it again … :(

  • Dammitttttt

i asked in shop last week about these and the guy told me they were gone forever and id have to get one off ebay

    • +1

      So he lied?

    • +2

Did he sell you one off ebay?

    • EB in store staff were told nothing. Only EB head office knew about this.

    • Nintendo haven't said they would stop making them as far as I read on CNET. But I have heard retailers claiming they were no longer available. Hence the massive mark-ups on eBay.. But the more that's put on eBay the less value they will become.

  • +1

That was quick, and it was definitely a deal. Getting one at RRP is a bargain, as you can see from this post, the RRP models fly off the shelves and the base price for an "in stock" one from a reseller are ~$300. Leave the gaming deals to gamers, we know what we want.

  • +8

Hey thanks for posting, I ordered one earlier.
After the 17th post about raspberry Pi I decided to cancel the eb order and go with that instead.

    …said no one ever

  • Wish my mum didn't throw away my working original NES. :(

  • A bargain is subjective…. if you ask a man dying of thirst, if a $100 bottle of water is a bargain, he would most likely say yes. So even though its RRP, to thirsty resellers and gamers who want to relive their youth, this is a bargain

    • +1

      Not really a valid comparison.

A more accurate one would be:

Asking a thirsty man if he'd rather 30L of Nintendo water or an unlimited supply RaspberryPi water. Both are ~$99. But the man picks having less, simply for the brand name.

      • +10

More accurate would be, 30L of crystal clear Nintendo water in an easy to use drink bottle, or an unlimited supply of hydrogen and oxygen

    • Both valid corrections. I think mr kindface takes the cake

  • The deal had like 50 something votes when it when Out of Stock. Why are people still up-voting this?

  • +4

The scalpers are fast, they should burn in hell.

    • -3

These units are a license to print money I've resold 43 so far at an average price of 291.50 so almost tripling my investment

      • At first I despise people like you, but come to think of it the 43 idiots who bought this off you are dumbasses.

Honest question, do you even have a job?

        • yeah being a scalper.

  • coming to fleabay and scumtree at highway robbery prices.

  • Wow just had a look at eBay completed prices!

It's not like this is a limited production run. Almost as stupid as Hatchimals, but hey fools and their money…

  • Thank you, had been waiting and wouldnt have known otherwise. Got one, but they sold out quick.

  • whats the fuss? i hated my nes, all the games were so damn hard and ruthless: 3 lives, come on!

  • -1

I was of the understanding Nintendo was re-releasing this at a better price, with extension cable for the controller due to their stuff up. Too little too late, would have made a nice xmas present, but I'd take retropi anyday.

    • FYI: You can get a 3m extension cable for a Wii controller for ~$5 shipped on eBay (same connection).

As a huge Linux and homebrew computer fan: Retropi's are cool but let's not pretend that they are anywhere near the same thing.

  • +2

Thanks for this i managed to order one before it sold out :)

    • +3

Congrats :) Now you're playing with power :D

I foolishly delayed my order by an hour or so and then found that the page was 404'd by the time I was ready to add it to my cart. D'oh. I guess my 37th birthday will be devoid of a NES mini for a self-given birthday present (hahah). Ah well, there are plenty of other toys to spend my income on. Hopefully Target will get some in soon though. Enjoy yours mate!

      • +1

Thanks man will do :) now to find the wireless controllers at a reasonable price..! Should have ordered one yesterday before they sold out ..

  • I checking my order still has "Processing" on it with an ETA delivery of Tomorrow does anyone else have this?

    • Processing - ETA Monday 16th.

It said 16th when I had it in my cart before purchase. Maybe based on location (I'm in Melbourne).

    • -5

I've got ETA of today but still 'processing'. It should have already been processed yesterday if it is going to arrive today.

It's making me anxious because I've already pre-sold it on ebay for $300.

      :/

      • you better watch it unless you given enough time on ebay for handing the buyer if anything like me will want to know why it hasn't been posted within the time you stated when listing your item.

        • The dog ate the box when I was packing it. :)

        • Sorry, my dry humour is lost online.
          I'm not selling anything.

    • EB are based in Brisbane for those wondering on delivery times.

  • You can now hack the NES Classic and can have up to 90 games installed. Search on youtube for details

    • already mentioned on first page

  • Wonder when they will cancel my order and say reason: out of stock sorry we we refund. LOL

  • Just checked my account, it says shipped now and there's a tracking number.
Didn't get an email update though.

  • +1

Got email just now. It is shipped with tracking number.

  • +1

    Shipped my orders yay :)

  • -7

My 12 just shipped out, thanks OP for the easy 1200-2400 dollars profit in my pocket.

    • Declare that income! Or ato will call, you are warned, ip logged and data retention log created

      • -1

Uh no. Under 80k for home businesses you do not need to declare.

        • eBay will send details to ato if ur total is more than 10k sales

        • @Turd:

Even then it wouldn't matter as its classed as a side business which you do not pay tax on under the threshold.

Besides what makes you think I solely sell with eBay?

        • @MATTDAMON:

He's also selling it on Gumtree.
I saw his AD some time ago.

        • @MATTDAMON: dai gou?

    • How much you want for one, Mammon?

  • +1

on its way yay.. not a bargain bitch please :-P

    • Don't fret!

Looks like we've had a problem. We should be back up again soon.

That's all I get now when trying to pay…

  • Could not pay, and now it is gone

  • Page was up for all of 10 minutes this time

      • -1

Sorry but you have the same opportunity as me to get one online from eb games

        • Ok scalper. Have you advertised them for $300 yet on gumtree/ebay?

        • -1

          @cyrax83:

1 - Waiting until i have them in hand
2 - $300 is overpriced they sell for more in the $200 range well that what i sold my last five for

  • +2

    • +1

You need USB power. I just plugged mine in to the USB port on the back of my TV.

      • Thanks. So its only needed if your TV doesnt have a USB port then

  • woohoo got a console + controller.. thanks op

  • +1

has anyone purchased one of these from EB? was wanting to confirm whether the NES mini https://www.ebgames.com.au/wiiu-217390-Nintendo-Classic-Mini… does come with 1 controller with the unit or not? and also, are the controller cords really short? or long enough? like is it essential to buy an extension cable https://www.ebgames.com.au/wii-220153-Play---Mini-NES-Classi… or would do without?
and lastly, it says it needs an AC adaptor for the usb power, and im assuming a normal phone charger ac usb adaptor would work right? (although for reselling im sure some people would opt for the nintendo branding one) thanks for any help :)
