or mame emulator on PC
or a nintendo 2ds and mod it for pirate nintendo games
Mame is great its where i started off with but with the retro pi every emulator is right there and its a simple plug the controllers in and play.
Mame is in the list with nearly every console out there.
Have to say retro pi is the shit.
Have around 2000 roms sitting there to play away.
i dont see the actual point of this
To resell for a profit.
Amazingly this still hasn't sold out, and the website is not overloaded.
Not sure if sarcasm or not, but the buzz for these nostalgia products dies pretty quickly. Nintendo always seem to create enough scarcity to ensure the fear of missing out is nice and strong. Then usually after the first shipment people have realised that after the 10 minute hit of nostalgia this is going to be a dust gatherer.
Having said all of this, I still want one because I'm a massive Nintendo fanboy…but I know if I got one it'd keep me occupied for a few hours tops and then I probably wouldn't use it again.
they didn't sell out right away cause the only way i found out about it was press start eb games themselves did not advertise this
hype's still there not as much but still definetly there.
Anyone know where one can find a reasonably priced genuine Nintendo Classic controller? (not after third party or other solutions)
PSA: Just thought id post this here just in case anybody is still looking to buy one of these, Target has both the NES Mini system and the original Controller for sale. Here are the links below:
NES Mini: https://www.target.com.au/p/nintendo-classic-mini-entertainm…
NES Controller: https://www.target.com.au/p/nintendo-classic-mini-controller…
UPDATE:
Also in stock over at EB Games
NES Mini: https://ebgames.com.au/wiiu-217390-Nintendo-Classic-Mini-NES…
YES!! finally can ditch the retro pi
Thank you kind sir!
Finally have my second controller. Debated a second unit for Hakchi but decided against it.
Target are already out of stock however EB still seem to be going okay and have the controller too;

Same here, I've spent ages looking for a second original controller and just thought id try my luck again today, they've been just as scarce as the actual system.
No way I was paying the scalpers price for a controller haha.
Looks like I was wrong on Target stock, they just don't return results for NES
@rbrownja23: Wouldn't you be better off buying a third party controller given the terrible design (cord length) of the Ninty controller?
Awesome. Thanks for the heads-up.
Sold out at target while I was paying 😡
Thanks for the tip though, OP
Did you try over at EB Games? It's still in stock over there.
has anyone purchased one of these from EB? was wanting to confirm whether the NES mini https://www.ebgames.com.au/wiiu-217390-Nintendo-Classic-Mini… does come with 1 controller with the unit or not? and also, are the controller cords really short? or long enough? like is it essential to buy an extension cable https://www.ebgames.com.au/wii-220153-Play---Mini-NES-Classi… or would do without?
and lastly, it says it needs an AC adaptor for the usb power, and im assuming a normal phone charger ac usb adaptor would work right? (although for reselling im sure some people would opt for the nintendo branding one) thanks for any help :)
edit: nvm was answered in deal post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/286785?page=3#comment-4415…
Depending on your preference, you're probably better off getting a longer HDMI cable rather than a controller extension. That way you can have the console nearby with the reset button handy. This comes with a single controller, with a very short cord. You need to provide your own USB power supply (any USB wall charger that you get with a phone etc will do), and the AU version doesn't come with the retro poster.
Went to grab from target placed the order waiting for paypal to pull thru waited a minute then errors out :(
Went straight to EB website grabbed one and a controller as well only downside no free shipping :( better then the crazy prices on eBay and gumtree though cant believe there are idiots out there trying to sell a controller up to $100 :)
NES Mini and controller back in stock at EB GAMES:

Cheers
I originally wanted one but I gave up and instead bought an analog nt mini
Thanks for the late news Sandra sully

I checked a Target and a JB, neither had stock and they basically took it as a stupid question.

The mini NES is back in stock at EB Games if anyone's interested: https://ebgames.com.au/wiiu-217390-Nintendo-Classic-Mini-NES…
Yea we can see on the front page.
Yeah, you can now but not when I originally posted! All good. There was no way I was going to post it as a 'deal' though, so many Debbie Downers on OzB nowadays ruining it for everyone else. Meh, by the looks of it I may as well not have bothered doing anything anyway. Ah well, such is life.
Thanks!!! Just bought one online with the controller from EB Games… WOW… FINALLY haha.
Nintendo just announced no more stock to come to Australia.

Might be a collectors item if it wasn't already.
Lucky me,
I got one with an extra controller on Tuesday from Target Palmerston. There were 5 consoles and 4 controllers left.
Added 800+ games to the already 30 existing games. Been playing Double Dragon 2 and Battletoad all day today. Great little gem.
RRP Nintendo Classic is retroactively a great deal lol
Or just buy a RetroPie off Ebay and get so much more value.
