well as much as so many pointed out that MSY is always with a huge line, i have not encounter any experience to MSY that took me more than 15mins(coz there is only a few free 15mins parking in MSY BOXHILL) so for 15mins wait i get my item right away and cheaper, MSY is still my best bet as of this deal
too bad not getting any harddrive…since usb3.0 is out, i migth as well wait till it becomes standard and upgrade my computer.
Come to think of it, you're right. the last time I was waiting for long time in MSY was few years ago when they only got malvern (and couple others) shops. Now with them basically everywhere, the waiting time is usually not much an issue.
But yes, not everyone living near MSY or have time/transport to pick it up in-store. plus, it's $5 cheaper here too ;)

I don't understand the hostility here. No one said it was a bad deal, just that it wasn't what he's looking for. In fact, it's stated that it's $5 CHEAPER than MSY. Perhaps people are getting a knee jerk reaction and reading it as $5 cheaper at MSY?
This is a very good price point. Has anyone ordered anything from them in the past? Are the items well packaged? I also wondered what their support is like if there is a problem.
Spent thousands at 9289, fantastic service always and courier shipped to my door. They've posted plenty of bargains on OzBargain before - if you want to read comments about the company you may want to look up the previous deals.
However, don't hesitate too long.. this will surely sell fast.

I feel the opposite to you. I bought 2 Samsung drives in the past 3-4 years and neither of them made it past the 24 month mark. I have WDs that are close to 10 years old that I can still boot an OS from. I know where my money's going.
For RAID the WD hdd's are not advisable due to the Advance Format that WD have.

Getting a lot of errors trying to put through my order:
"Email Error: Could not instantiate mail function. Please check Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Transport."
Not even sure if it went through, after confirming. This happened several times during the checkout procedure.

I also had a lot of problem checking out. After some 20 minutes or so, I managed to get into the Paypal merchant payment screen but when I click on the "Confirm Order" button the screen went blank and there was no confirmation from 9289.com.au on whether my order had been processed. I decided not to refresh the screen to re-do it just in case this generates a duplicate order. Instead, I logged into my PayPal account and was able to verify that the payment had been deducted. I think this should be sufficient but I'll have to wait and see. Hope this helps.

ive always been worried about hard drives going through the mail/courier system and possible damage
anyone got feedback if they have experienced this issue before?
i dunno .. i've always felt going into a store to pick them up is the safer option coz at least i know from store -> home how its transported.
They pack it pretty good. Mine (Samsung F3) came in a box much larger than the drive and the drive had bubble wrap and airbags protecting it.
Have you seen how the couriers treat them on the way to the store? going through the mail system would be no worse than that if they are well packed I would suspect
All the couriers are not care about your package we knew it, that is why we take care of every packing procedure and material.
The box are brand new and the airbags are fully protect your hard drive in side the box.
And you should know every hard drive it can take about 250Gs shock in a non-operating environment.

So our package with that kind of quality hard drive, i don't think it will have any problem with it.
