Do NOT Hide Your eBay Orders! It Disqualifies You from Targeted Vouchers (Like The $20 Voucher for Buying on eBay in Nov-Dec)

A few days ago, the THANKS20 voucher went out to anyone who purchased products on eBay during November and December, giving 20$ off a minimum 100$ spend: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/285788

However, despite having bought plenty in the period, I, like many others, didn't receive the voucher. So, I contacted eBay, saying they could check my purchase history as testament. As it turns out, I didn't receive the automated code because I would click 'Hide Order' once I received my items. Thankfully, the friendly eBay rep generated a 20$ code for me to use (after confirming I qualified) and cheers were had.

I won't be hiding orders anymore.

Thought you bargain hunters ought to know.

Hmm, I never click hide orders, I ordered in those months, but did not receive a code

    • Write eBay an email.

      • I shall, thanks for the heads up :)

  • I bought stuff and didn't get voucher either. Never hide my orders

  • Made purchases in Nov and Dec but no luck. Tried online chat I was told it was account specific. Thanks eBay for rewarding longstanding customers. Again.

  • Ah shit, I always hide my orders but I did get the $20 code though.

Same for me. I always hide my orders and I received the THANKS20 code.

Don't think hiding the orders has anything to do with receiving the code or not

What's the point of hiding orders?

    • +1

      Could be:

      1. Cleanliness is next to godliness;
      2. Hiding successfully received purchases allows easier tracking/management of open orders if you buy a lot from eBay; or
      3. OCD

      For me probably #3

    • I hide orders once an item is received and I've left the seller feedback. I buy a lot on eBay so it helps knowing what I have/haven't received.

  • That thanks20 is for purchases made on Nov and Dec are you sure it has anything to do with not hiding.

Didn't even know 'hide orders' was an option!

  • I always hide my orders once its complete. Received the $20 code fine.

So it looks like eBay rep is giving wrong info to you since some who hid orders got the code and those who didn't hide orders, never saw the promo code flashing.

I do the same and hide my orders once received just to clean up my list, received the THANKS20 code fine

Didn't get the offer even after making a fair few purchases in Nov and Dec so I contacted eBay and this was their reply:

I do understand that you purchased items in the months of November and December but still you've not received the voucher. I'll be glad to assist you.

I'd like to let you know that this voucher was offered to members who have purchased items worth $100 or more. I've checked and can see that you have placed an order in the month of November which cost $520 but still you didn't received the voucher. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to you.

As you are our valued member, I'd request you to please go ahead and place the order of $100 or more excluding the postage cost and let us know by replying to this email with the item number and your PayPal email address and we'll request a manual credit to be applied to your PayPal account.

I'd like to inform you that the crediting might take 15-20 business days to be credited to you PayPal account once requested.

So anyone who missed out on the voucher even after making purchases of $100 or more during Nov and Dec I suggest you shoot eBay an email and they should be able to help you out.

Far out that looks like a painful process for a loyal customer. I made two different purchases over $800 ea and did not get the voucher. Bring on Amazon.

      • Yeah but I guess they are willing to address the problem all it took was a simple email so not all bad. Just shoot em an email champ still have a few days left to use it.
