• Get flights for free, or very low cost
• Travel on ships and boats free of charge
• Stay in free accommodations throughout the world, including Antarctica
• Get free car rental

And more.

This book costs 1 cent after applying the free $5 credit from Kobo. Please note this is not referral credit, just an offer Kobo is doing right now.

Full Disclosure: I am the author of this book, and an avid Ozbargainer ;)

It usually costs around $5, so I thought this a good deal for Ozbargainers :)

Since I don't use kobo I'll buy your book to help out an ozbargainer, I've got a feeling though that the pitch will be to work while overseas/returning car to destinations ect…. not free if you work for it.

    Regardless, good luck mate

    Hey.

I just signed into Kobo for the first time and got a $5 credit. So the book will cost exactly $0.01!!!

You should drop the price by $0.01 to $5.00 thus making it effectively free for all new subscribers to Kobe.

I will prudently wait a hour or so to see if you do so (in order to possibly save the $0.01 like a true ozbargainer) :)

    cheers Peter

    • I suspect that if no payment is made that Kobo don't give him his royalties and thus pricing it as low as possible while making a couple of bucks.

      Hey Peter,

Wish I could! Unfortunately Kobo only gives you the $5 credit for purchases of $5.01 or more, so 1 cent is the closest I can get to free :)
      cheers

      • Oh ok

I will bite the bullet and pay the $0.01 :)

But I will do so using my frequent flyer credit card so I get miles for the purchase so not a total loss :)

  • Travel for free or support a giant multinational like Kobo?

    • Why not both? :)

  • Good luck, after 1 year there are no reviews, and $5 normal price for a 49 page booklet was pretty steep.

I was also surprised when my book came to 49 pages on Kobo’s system. It’s 145 pages on Kindle! As for reviews, many authors pay for fake reviews – see gigs on Fiverr for exactly this. I’ve also been offered this as a free ‘add on’ to book promotion services. I won’t compromise my integrity, even though it would get more sales.

      • I just skimmed through the book. Some good tips in there, mostly what good ozbargainers would already know. I got some value out of a couple of UK points sites I had not heard of.

It would be better though if it went into more detail about getting points from credit cards which in my experience is the best way to rack up points quickly and at low cost. What is overlooked is the fact that points can also be exchanged for hotel rooms so getting FF points cheaply is the way to go.

Worth the $0.01 I paid for it.

        cheers Peter

So they flights arent really free. They are earned by getting points, which can really be used in other ways, so the Free part is offset by how else you can use those points.

Guess the author is just using the same marketing spin that industry uses, which a true Ozbargainer would see as stretching the truth.

100000 points = a free flight, or a $100 gift card. So the "free flight" is really a $100 flight.

Or an online survey through someone like e-rewards that takes 30 minutes to do, gives you 300 points to add to the frequent flyer program of your choice.

The same rewards could give you a free magazine subscription and so on

I guess for 1c its nothing much, but its also nothing new or "secret"
