Saw a big reduction in price for this at Harvey Norman, reduced from $1695 to $1195.

Key Features

  • The Samsung 55" Ultra HD LED LCD Smart Curved TV features Active Crystal Colour and Auto Motion Plus for better visuals, and Dolby Digital Plus for improved audio output.
  • A curved screen design helps enhance immersion and depth perception.
  • Thanks to Samsung TV’s quad-core processor, viewers get to enjoy seamless, uninterrupted viewing.
  • This 4K Ultra HD television lets you go beyond typical TV watching. Choose from a range of apps or use the built-in web browser for extra convenience.

  • hrmmm i thought i was the model up UA55KS8000, that goes from 1999 down to 1499 now…. dam - that would have been a bargain.

You mean this one? It's $1495 at TGG.

Bought the ua65ks8000 for 2490 on boxing day… bloody good tele 😀

    • +1

me too - just got it delivered today

    • +1 the salesperson has said it'll take at least there's a 4 weeks wait

    • +1 bought it boxing day morning however at the coast and cant pick it up till the 2nd.

    Curved is for mugs tho.

    • I am 100% converted on curved monitors, the only downside with TV is the small optimal viewing area but I can't see that being a problem for say a couple.

      • Curved ultrawide 30" PC screens yes, curved TV screen is useless since you don't sit that close to it that being flat is an issue at all.

  • Have anyone tried to make split payment? I want to use Amex offer with two cards on this one to make a $200 savings

    • +1

Did twice, double payment no issues.

  • What is HDR on this one?

    • Series 6 are 8-bit

  • Careful about the HN@DM Auburn. The franchisee there is demonstrates very poor customer service and refused to do multiple transactions today. I refused to purchase.

HN@Castle Hill is fine with split payment by AMEX

    • Had this problem with Southland Westfield last week. Wouldn't split a 300 gift card across 3 amexs so walked away.

Went to fountain gate westfield the next day where they were happy to with little fuss.

  • Will this model good enough for playing blu-ray? I mean both mainstream 1080p and ultra HD?

    I know it's a 8-bit panel and have limited HDR…

I have purchased a XBOX One S…but for the most of the time I will use it as a blu-ray player…

At the moment, I am a bit confused between this model and SONY 49" X8000D 4K HDR TV… Link It seems SONY one is smaller screen but it has 10-bit panel, am I correct?

PS: I cannot go up for KS8000 due to the budget and space constraints, as this curved can be put on my 1m table but 8000 can't do it…

  • To anyone looking to buy a tv and think they might notice the difference and care - I highly recommend you hold out for a model with better support for 24fps playback than this one has.
