  • Vinyl is like George Michael….gone, gone, gone.

Or is it more like John Farnam, just when you think its gone, it keeps comimg back.

I can understand buying albums on vinyl that were originally released when vinyl was a thing. But these are fully CD era albums, so the toss factor is high here. Colour and the shape is one of my all time favs tho.

Actually there is 1 very good reason for vinyl - high dynamic range - if you dont know what it is look it up

you can find the difference in dynamic range of the same album here

most if not all albums on vinyl have better dynamic range.

However there is 1 huge problem is that you need very good sound equipment to make vinyl "better" than CD - and even then - ive heard pops and clicks on even the best vinyl digital transfers.

I'm old enough to remember when Foo Fighters were a good band. If you don't believe me check out their self-titled and The Colour & The Shape albums.

  • The second LP of "In Your Honor" has the best calm songs they've made - a nice change from the loud, chord-heavy style that they specialise in.

Also, the album "Echo, Silence, Patience and Grace" has the song "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners" on it. The inspiration of it is exactly what you expected. It's worth a listen.
