Weber Q3100 Family Q for $591.20, Q2000 $343.20, Q1000 $255.20 (Delivered) at Myer

220

Fantastic price on the Weber range at Myer. Not sure if this is a boxing day only sale, but if you're in the market for a BBQ you should grab this while it's on offer.
My Christmas Turducken in the Weber was quite a hit yesterday ;)

Its the 1200/2200/3200 you want. Simply wasting your money on these models as you cant roast in them, this is where webers shine.

    • Small roasts are no issue. Massive roasts would be.
Turducken yesterday was in a Q1000.

    • I roast fine in my Q2000 without temp gauge. Just takes a bit of practice and maybe a little more attention than usual. I wonder if you can buy the higher "specialist" hood separately and just swap it out?

      • Yes you can buy the hood seperately.

        They're $165.00 for titanium colour.

Is this model really worth it?

Being a Q owner myself, I really don't know why anyone would bother buying the 1000/2000/3100 series with the lower height hood, no temperature guage (a must have) and basic piezo ignition. Unfortunately buying the much better 1200/2200/3200 Weber Q's with only slightly higher RRP's means going to a specialist Weber dealer where there is significantly less competition and less chance of discounts.

  • Yep, the premium models never go on sale. No need to discount a great bbq when it will last longer than your car.
Best deal you can get is a free roasting pack valued at $59.

    • Where is that deal? Haha

Damn these would have stacked well with Amex. Sadly they expired on the 24th

    • Next time just get the Coles Myer gift cards.

      • So they don't check what you've purchased? Good to know

Agree with Bratam about the temp gauge. That saved us yesterday in cooking a roast for the Christmas family gathering. Our electric oven spat the dummy and so we finished the roast in the Weber. Without the temp gauge (cooking temp and finishing temp required) that would have been very difficult. The roast was brilliant despite the changeover.

I had tried to argue that the whole job should have been done in the Weber, but was told it would not do as good a job as the built-in electric oven and that the Weber was too fiddly. It meant I could sit at the table having a cold one and keep an eye on the roast without leaving my chair.

    I have finally won one!

The temp gauge is also useful when cooking steaks and veges. You can see when it reaches temperature or if it is getting too hot or if you want to slow the cooking down.

You can buy a temp gauge on ebay for a couple of bucks.

      • Im sure you can but the webers have a temperature gauge not a thermometer.

These weber ones are $45.00 but cant be purchased separately, only the hood can be and thats $165.00.

To get a similar sized one which is accurate would be a tel-tru temp gauge and they're $80+
