Heck of a deal. You should clarify that it's the 65 inch model though.

    • Yes it is 65 Model.Changed the description.

$2487 delivered from here if you are ok with buying from them

I picked up a 65ks9500 for $3400 a fortnight ago. So this is a good deal for someone who doesnt want a UHD certified tv.

    • Where did you buy it from?

      • Harvey norman. They're pumping out the deals over JB and good guys!

    • What is the difference, if you don't mind explaining? Thanks

      • A few features differ. I would wait for harvey norman to counter this offer because they will. Then buy the 8000 as the difference is small between 8 and 9 series.

Also keep an eye out on the sony 8 series 65" because stores have heaps and they're not a bad tv too ($1800ish) expect to pay

      • I wouldn't listen to neofelis. The KS8000 is UHD verified. There is little difference between the KS8000 and 9000/9500 (curved version).

The Ks9000 has a different stand and bezel, better speakers and slightly better motion control (and I mean ever so slight). If you could get the KS9000 for $100-200 more I'd grab that, otherwise it's not worth it.

        • I spoke with a Samsung rep the other day and he suggested that the 9 series had twice as many individual back lit zones. Do you know if this is true? It's hard to find solid information on some of these things online.

@timi2fly: If it does, it makes little difference.

        • Agree indeed with your comment mate.

  • Argh, snap this up or hope for OLED price drops? :(

Oled wont drop till sony release their oled screens in 2017..

I would wait for HN to counter this offer because they will..

  • Seems to go till the 1st
    see link (page 3): https://www.jbhifi.com.au/features/current-catalogues/

  • All Samsung 8 series models are really good. Compared to 9 series, they are missing only few things. Although price difference is quite steep between 8 series and 9 series for not much extra features and different stand and look. Also 8 series is UHD certified as well. 8 series stand also requires less space compared to 9 series.

  • Got KS8000 55" at the Good Guys recently. Great TV. Submitting a claim for their 30 day price guarantee.

Not sure that 65" is worth the extra $1000. But I guess that depends on your preference.

    • Got the same TV from JB recently. They don't have a price guarantee :((( Shall I try talk to the store anyway?

      • I have never tried this myself. The Good Guys conditions say that it must be a lower price from a competitor, not themselves. But it won't hurt trying.

    • +1

My preference is 65" but can't justify the extra $1000 over the 55" KS8000.

    • $1000 is peanuts for ten inches. I wish the jump to 75 were only $1000.

    • Think of it as future proofing for yourself. Trust me - you'll regret it in 6 months not spending the extra $1K for the larger size.

  • perhaps as noted, sale on this model across the board which is great:

    binglee $2499 https://www.binglee.com.au/samsung-ua65ks8000-65-uhd-smart-l…
    harveys $2488 http://www.harveynorman.com.au/tv-blu-ray-home-theatre/tvs/t…
    JB's $2496 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…
    Good guys $2495 https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-65-inches165cm-suhd-l…

Prices quoted are as per online 8am 26/12/16. unsure if larger in-store discounts for boxing day? - anyone confirm?

Prices appear all time low but only just after some solid 20% off ebay rounds pre xmas.

now where to buy?? Goodguys offer 30 day price protection (on section of site says max $100 refund other says straight 120% of difference?) which is probably great moving into a model replacement in first quarter 17' vs JB who offer free additional year warranty. both $50/60 delivery for me respectively.

    • The Good Guys 30 day price protection doesn't apply to Boxing day and other sale events according to a couple Whirlpool threads but I can't find anything specific to Boxing Day here: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/pay-less

But the above URL also states:
"We do not Price Beat for advertising errors, prices which include bonuses, limited or group buy offers, clearance products, promo code and finance offers, or cash backs and discounts including where offered directly by a supplier or a third party"

Would this count as a "clearance product", particularly with the 55” version also being heavily discounted?

Can you confirm where the free additional warranty is mentioned at JB? I found some confusing passage re “Minimum voluntary Warranty” here: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/Documents/Consumer%20Warranties%20… (it’s linked to from https://www.jbhifi.com.au/General/Corporate/Consumer-Matters… )

Might not matter for VIC buyers, as when I just searched in Melbourne for this TV on JB Hi Fi’s site, they had “in store purchase only” for it and Shepparton was the nearest store (that's rural Victoria for non-Vic people who don't know where that is) while HN and GG had plenty available.

I really don't know why this particular model is being discounted so much as it's got a great reputation. I can see why the remaining stores discounted it after one of them did first (coz of their price matching policies). I was considering the Hisense 65" M7000 due to its good reviews and value for money before this sale came along, but will be going with this.

      • Advice on extended warranty (on all TVs over $500) is from multiple discussions with different sales people over the last couple of months (I too have been tossing up between this and a hisense 7000).

I wouldn't have thought this would count as clearance unless noted. Problem is good guys themselves are most likely to drop the price which wouldn't stand against their own price protection policy.

        • Well, JB have removed the link altogether for this 65" model now. Deciding whether to bite the bullet and buy from the Good Guys on the off-chance their 30 day price protection policy may apply, otherwise a few bucks isn't going to make me pick one over the other.

          @tch:
Yep can confirm jb's out of stock chain wide and not take g further orders at that price.

Just purchased through the good guys and got a call 5 mins later to say in back order with up to 15days lead time, but will honour price, however found stock elsewhere near by at my request and have agreed to transfer.

          Get in quick if interested!!

        • Thanks for that. Got it from HN to avoid this potential back order issue you had. Looking forward to the beast's arrival.

      • Picked up a flyer on the way out of TGG on their 30 day price guarantee. It states "our price guarantee applies through all sales periods…with no blackouts*" Full terms and conditions thegoodguys.com.au.

Also managed to get them down to $2,370 on the 65" so super stoked!

        • Wow! Great buying! Let's just hope the price plummets with other retailers in the next 30 days!

        • @grimo82:
          Haha, that's what I'm hoping for 😜

  • In WA ive driven around after 2pm and its sold out across all JB hifi's, TGG and HN. I even stopped by retravision [same price] and its sold out there too!!

now on backorder with eta mid to late jan!!

  • Can anyone knowbif HDR1000 means HDR10, im confused… Also does anyone know the length of the breakout cable?

  • Is it just me or do these tvs have slight imperfections (like ripples) in the panel when looking at the screen @ an angle whilst the screen is off. Looked at several others at an angle in store and all have similar imperfections.

Not so sure a replacement will yield a straight panel..

    • You said whilst the screen is off, so is it something noticeable when the screen is on, or you haven't checked that? I haven't heard anyone mentioning that before. Did you notice that only on this Samsung model, or even on others? Wanna buy this particular model, as it has mainly positive reviews and is said to be very good with gaming, so let's see what others have to say about this.

      • Whilst it is on it is not fully noticeable unless your in a dark scene and you have lights reflecting off the television.

Other brands had the same issue too.

        • Ta. Will try to find out about that issue further.

  • I really want this but its sold out everywhere, anybody knows where to find one ? which place is better to buy one from ?

    • This person is saying there's a store selling it for $1499, but I didn't understand the name of the business: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/284187#comment-4331332

PD: Looks like it's a store/business called 2ndsworld. New to me.

      • Looks like they only have few display models in stock as well, got none brand new I am taking a trip on Saturday to have a look at the one they have if its in good condition I might just buy it, he said its only been on display for month or so or 2 months tops so will see.
And thank you for your comment.
