looks like a new lower price for XA ultra

    • thanks. added in description :)

    • Deng paid $349 recently from sony online sale

      • How recent? could possibly ask them to refund you. Not sure how but maybe email them and see.

      • I also bought XA ultra for $349 on 9th December. This deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/281207#comment

Does sony got a moneyback thing like goodguys?

        • Does the screen of this model still have issues with the invisible touch like Sony Z ultra?

        • Hey up2date, how is your Xperia XA Ultra phone, I was going to buy one but confusing with Xiaomi Mi Max under AU$300 with bigger size but not really trust Mi brand, please let me know if you got by chance, thanks

        • +1

          @tinkko:

My Xperia XA ultra going perfectly, only regret is I could have save $50 buying it now :). I previously used Lg g pro2 , that was also 6 inch screen and 3 gb RAM. I love both phones but Sony seems to be smoother and got better camera. Today I bought 64 GB sd card for my sony.

        • @up2date: thanks for your reply, I just bought Mi Max for AU$229, one day sale in Aliexpress, last minute swinging from Sony, fingercorss, cheers.

        • @tinkko:

Hey no worries. Phones now a days only last 2 years. After 2 years you'll either find battery is dead or you're going to treat yourself with a new phone :)

    Any bargains?

  • Wish they got the XA on sale again

    • +7

Wish they got PS4 Pro on sale.

      • +1

already got my Pro so I'm hoping i don't see any sale on the Pro for the next 6-12 months lol

        • +1

Me too! Would love a vita sale :)

  • +1

Seems a good price for h.ear. Anyone has any experience on that comparing the BOSE NC?

    • +2

It might not have the same noise cancelling capabilities as their Bose competitors, but they're a good pair of headphones in plenty of other ways.
      http://www.soundguys.com/sony-h-ear-on-wireless-review-9305/

      • +2

Tried the H.ear ones. The Noise cancellation is on pair when I tried in JB.

I actually like the sound of the Sony compared to Bose. However, my head is wider than the band can fit comfortably. So I ended up with QC35. I still would like the Sony sound though. :(

        • +1

Now that could be painful in more ways than one?

        • +1

@Kevan2: not really painful with QC35, it's fit is comfortable for big head like mine. But the sound lacks dynamic of Sony.

Anyway, it a an expensive headphone and I have no intention to change till this one breaks. (I am an OzBargainer!) haha

    • +3

      I have the h.ear.
The noise cancellation is not as good as the Bose 35s I have used in recent months. But it is still very good and I actually find it more comfortable as I am one of those who gets a bit of a headache from the vacuum effect from the BOSE technology.
But it is on sound quality that the h.ear really excels over the BOSE, particularly if you use high definition and CD quality sound files - simply brilliant reproduction. But if you are using it with your iphone with std ripped MP3s you won't notice the difference.
Also, unlike the BOSE the Sony h.ears do not swivel both ways above the earcup meaning that they do not fold flat when you carry them around your neck. That is a minor inconvenience but one you need to be aware of.
That price for the black h.ears is exceptional. Interesting the other colours have not been discounted as much.

      • +2

Good price on the ABNs. Wish they had the 1000x on sale also.

    • +1

They kill the QC35 in sound quality. I didn't need them, but at this price had to get them.

    • Grab one of green colour at Chatswood Sony on boxing day. Surprisely they sold it at 199 and it was for all colours. Bargain!

  • X7000D is a nice TV. Android TV is great for anyone who has used Telstra credit to but a lot of movies and TV shows through the Google play Store.

  • +1

DHL delivery ruined my last Sony online experience.

    • +1

      Whats happened?

      • Yeah, what happened…. Don't leave us hanging

        • +3

They won't deliver to a business address without the business name included in the address.
By the time Sony sent me an email staying I need to contact DHL to arrange redelivery the items had already been sent back to Sony by DHL.
Had to be a go between for DHL and Sony.
Sony eventually agreed to refund my money. A week later and still no sign of refund.
Will have to go through paypal now after Christmas.
Too much effort and hassle around this time of year for me.

        • +3

@cantstanzya: I had to ring DHL as well to see why they hadn't delivered after 2 days. They couldn't tell but it may have been because of the (work) address as well. At the end, it took 1 week for a Sydney to Sydney delivery with 4x a 'out for delivery' note showing on their hopeless (Flash-based) tracking system. Rediculous!

        • +2

@bozbargain: I agree, DHL are the worst

    • Drop it, Hide it, Lose it

    • Im seeing what you mean. Missed them by 10 mins! Theyre not even legit DHL - theyre just some hack mob that DHL bought out and when you ring the main DHL they tell you they cant help and give you a number where of course the hack mob are closed and only operate mon - fri so forget saturday pick up :( Absolute PITA, wont get phone till the 3rd now. Stupid hacks were literally across the road making another delivery but instead of travelling 30m to my house (while im home) they decide to go somewhere else and come later when we're out. 1st world problems ikr still waiting 4 days all cause of that just pisses me off

Basically 65" X8500D 4K HDR TV vs Samsung UA65KS8000W vs Hisense 65M7000 this boxing day for me

I think too early to pull the trigger? From my understanding best to wait for Good guys and Harvey Norman to weigh in

  • How good are the other noise cancelling headphones - the ZX770BN ?

Found one pretty positive review (Business Insider) but prefer word-of-mouth to confirm.

    • Did a quick goog on the price and this 'sale' price is the normal price on places like Kogan and even DS….

    • I have both the 770BN and the MDR-1000x headphones. NC wise, the 1000x win hands down. However, the 770BN shows more bass, but nothing an equaliser can't fix. Soundstage pretty much even for both. Not sure if the 770BN has LDAC but the 1000x does. I pair it with my Z5Premium and it's superb. I use my 770BN at home where I don't need a lot of NC as my study is way from the living areas, and use the 1000x in the office. Even cuts down a lot of the chitter chatter noise.

Have to say the 1000x is the best pair of headphones I ever bought. Paid only $493 @ JBHifi when they had it on special about a month ago.

  • +2

No love for the MDR-1000X NC headfones?

    • +2

Love comes at a price and $699 with no boxing day discount is disappointing.

      • +1

I guess I'll just have to wait to see if amazon puts them on sale for boxing day

      • Yup they're flogging off all the shit nobody buys for cheap

    • I am after them, too. I remember when nothing was held back at Boxing day sales.

      They're disappointing now.

  • +1

Do Sony X Members get even cheaper prices? Can any Sony X Members let me know please :)

    • Which one in particular? Some items are cheaper and some are the same.

      • 65" X8500D 4K HDR TV?

        • +1

          $2,299.00

  • +1

JB have the KD55X8500D for $1498 now.

    • +1

$1 cheaper. Hmm! Does JB deliver for free? If yes, then JB might be the better option as Sony uses DHL for delivery, and a lot of people are complaining about DHL deliveries.

      • +1

Sony has 2.4% cashback, $35 difference may be I will choose sony. Not sure about DHL ..

  • Waiting for a deal on the Xperia XZ

  • +2

so is it just me.. or does the 65" X8500D seem a really good price? I can't see that its been that cheap before?

    • +2

To me it seems like a (profanity) good price mate

  • Cheers, just picked up a new TV! :)

  • +3

What is the difference between 55" X8500D and 55" X7000D? From the sony spec I think they are both 4k UHD HDR and same picture features. More weird is that X7000D is direct LED but X8500D is edge LED, isn't direct LED better? Everybody seems to be keen on X8500D I'm assuming it has an obvious advantage worth $400 more.

  • +1

    What's the major real-life difference between X7000D and X8500D?

Is it worth paying another 40-50% or X7000D would do the trick?

I have just grabbed a XB1S and want to pair that machine to a TV :-)

Thanks yedjia. On the sony official website is says X7000D is also HDR. Triluminos display, MotionFlow XR 800 and the 4K Processor X1 is the difference. But still not sure what does that mean. Will continue do my research. Thanks

      http://www.sony.com.au/electronics/televisions/x7500d-x7000d…

      • I'm looking myself. X7500 isn't Triluminos.

  • +2

Triluminos technology helps reduce colour fading when the screen is viewed from an angle or under direct sunlight. A technology which enhances the colour saturation on a display such as in smartphones.

Oh no…. I can't deposit my Xmas money till Wednesday and the tv I want is on sale and I only got 700 in my account…

    Pls don't ozbargain me, PLZZ!

  • +1

how is the xa ultra? seems awesome for a selfie lover(which I am not) but really cheap and the back camera is 21 Megapixels.

  • So i want to grab something to pair with a PS4 Pro… What would be the best set 55 and under?

    • +1

If gaming is the main consideration, the X7000D would be better as it has significantly lower input lag @ 4K (based on the rtings reviews of the equivalent models, the X700D and the X850D.

  • Thanks op, snagged a pair of H.ear noise cancelling headphones after reading some reviews.

  • I checked some of these out last night, and noticed JB Hifi had some of the audio stuff currently cheaper (quite a bit) than this Sony sale ( like the soundbar etc).
Remember, this is direct from Sony the slashed down prices might seem amazing, but many stores are selling these things way below cost price anyway, it's worth verifying before spending with Sony if the same is cheaper elsewhere.

  • Wish That they had a deal with a free PS4 Pro with a TV…. and that my TV from the PS3 deal would break at exactly the same time.

    • +3

The first wish I can not help you with as it's something from Sony but the second can be easily accomplished with a baseball bat.

  • What do you guys think of the SONY KD75X8500D?
    Cheapest so far I believe

  • I have been trying to create an account for the last day.
Tried 3 different computers and cleared cookies/ enabled them.
Keep getting an error saying "An error has occurred, please try again later"

Does anyone know how to fix this frustration?

    Thanks in advance

How is the XA Ultra? Any other 6" phones that anyone can recommend? Thanks!

    • I'm interested to see how it stacks up against the xaomi mi max

  • At that price I pulled the trigger on XAultra. Havent bought a new phone for myself in a looooong time. Still using a ZopoC2.. Wife has an Xperia Z from way back and it never seems to die. My other Chinese phone pulled a ghost touch and is unusable unless I shell out $150 and replace the glass. After already replacing the the glass on my C2 ive had a gutfull of chinese brand phones

  • Really thinking about pulling the trigger on the 55" 8500D tomorrow. Would it be much of an upgrade than the kd49x8300c I currently have, bar the bigger screen?

  • I would have thought there would be a sale on the nwa 25 Walkmans. Considering they have new model coming out.

  • The phones were a bit better in the 12-day sale thingy…

  • Grabbed a set of the MDR100 H Ear's to replace last years ozbatgain headphone purchase the sennheiser urbanite xl bt. Guess this is a yearly habit now?

  • Should I buy LG 70" UH635T at $2495 or Sony KD65X8500D $2299? Can anyone comment on the pros and cons, apart from the size different of 5".

  • Went into a Sony kiosk this morning and got the h.ear MDR100ABNB
for $199! Not sure why the online prices says differently
They had the sale on all colours, but i still got black

    • +1

nice which kiosk? they might have scanned these ones instead that are 200 http://store.sony.com.au/MDRZX770BNB.html

      • +1

The one in Chats! Nope they had a stand labelled with the model number and everything!

        • Thanks heading there this morning

        • @johnny1983: Tell me how it goes! A friend picked one up in Parra for the same price also

        • @kh321: Picked up a blue headset this afternoon for $200. They are very comfortable and sound amazing for the price.

  • I've spent the past 24 hours trying to get a deal on the Bose QC35s. I even went into Sydney CBD to the Microsoft shop with $400 in my pocket to buy a set. Sadly, came home empty handed. Still, persisted online seeing if I could find a bargain. When I came across this deal, I saw the Sony H.ear set for $250 and after a bit of research, I've just pulled the trigger on a pair. The reviews for this pair of headphones have given me confidence that I'm going to get the sound quality I'm looking for and enough noise cancelling to last me on my trip back to the UK in February. I think I've made the right decision and I've even got a spare $150 to spend on hookers! A win all round.

    • Website says backorder for me on the h.ears. Did you get an estimated date for your set?

      Cheers

      • +1

I didn't get a backorder mention until I'd pressed the order button, which is a bit annoying. Haven't got an estimated date yet. Which is also annoying. I guess it'll arrive when it arrives but hopefully before the 2nd February when I leave for the UK.

      • +1

I just got an email this morning, saying:

"Unfortunately we're unable to process your order at this time."

And that was it. So I'm going to give them a call and find out what that is supposed to mean in regards to my order. Is it cancelled? Or what?

        • That's a shame. Try going into a song store or kiosk.

        • Btw the parramatta kiosk had a few left when I got one today. $199. Don't think there are any blacks left though.

        • @orbz:

I also ordered online for $249.

I called up the customer service today and asked if it's possible to refund the price difference.

Will keep you guys posted if anyone is interested.
