Cheapest TV with HDR, 40-55 Inch Good Brand

Hello everyone,
Browsed the site for couple of years and finally decided to become a member 3 months back.
I have got some of the best deals and have you guys to thank for.
1. Bought Xbox One S a couple of days ago from Harvey Norman and used AmEx, spent over 300. Do i have to do anything else to get my cashback from AmEx?
2. I want to upgrade to better Smart TV with HDR. Can anyone suggest me some good deals? Been waiting for boxing day deals and so far, none
Thanks in advance guys.

LG 55" UH652 UHD, Smart TV, LG's magic remote, HDR 4k, netflix recommended, youtube preinstalled. ~$1498 @JB Hifi.
LG 55" UH610 UHD 4k HDR, smart TV, very similar to above. Magic remote compatible but not included. No local dimming ~$1198 @ JB hifi.
    Wouldn't go below 55".

Also maybe consider Samsungs 40" UHD. forgot the model name but its sub $1000.

Smart TV + HDR + 4k are all extremely common amongst TV models these days, so don't let that be your deciding factor
. Look at price, size and interface usability of the smart TV system.

I have bought from the good guys the UH615T for 980 picked up, 55 inch

    55 inch
    4k
    HDR
    10bit panel for hdr
Chroma 4.4.4 ultra hd deep colour (8bit panel mode)
I don't think it does local dimming but it does 100hz true refresh and gears of war 4 looks amazing

Awesome tv considering jb want 1200 for it and the good guys 1100

Price matched to videopro who have it for 992, I tried 3x jb hifi stores who wouldn't entertain me

Very good tv for the money and if it drops within 30 days the good guys will refund me

  • There are two types of HDR 8bit and 10bit if you can go for a tv that's going to do 10bit it will give you a better HDR experience

    • My tv above will do 10bit hdr no issues
Works great on Xbox one S

    • incorrect. 8 bit is what we have already (16 million colours), the HDR has to do with wide colour gamut. if a TV doesn't have wide colour gamut then it renders it pretty much dull HDR. Wide-colour gamut covers the extra colour space for 10-bit (2 billion colours) for the DCI and BT.2020 standards. Bt.709 standard is not HDR and is the colours we have already.

For example the Samsung Ku6000 doesn't have Wide Colour Gamut and pretty much will not see bright colours with HDR, even though it is capable of playing HDR10 (10-bit). Hence why I bought a Sony X8000D.

  • Good Question OP I am also looking for a cheap 4K HDR TV because I am interested in purchasing PS Pro.

Go with the LG model I bought
It's awesome for gaming and very little input lag which is important

The input lag with 4k chroma 4.4.4 8bit is under 50ms

I believe with hdr 4k is 56ms which is perfect for gaming on such a big panel with hdr processing added
