Hi all, I am starting dentistry soon at Melb uni and apparently lectures arent recorded which means it will be harder to write notes like what I have been doing in undergrad. As a result, I am looking for a good device that is suited this. I would like a good ssd and cpu and preferably not a macbook. Its resolution doesnt really matter to me that much. My budget would probably be around 700-800 dollars. Bonus points if the device is likely to go on sale during the christmas sales. Thanks all.
Looking for a Laptop/Tablet for Uni ($700-$800 budget)

Fantastic. Thanks!
Thanks will look into it.
Mac, Microsoft, HP.
Thinkpad 13. 9 hours battery life. Thin, light, durable. Better than Macbook Air. Not as good as Thinkpad T series, but costs a boatload less.
Surface Pro 3 / 4 also a consideration but as an ex owner of a SP3, I wished I never bought it as it had some battery drain issues and I constantly carry the charger just in case its a long day. Battery life is not great. BUT… it's an excellent note taking device and it blows the competition out of the water.
The surface pro 3 is current very cheap from this deal although whether you will obtain at the clearance price it is another matter, last few comments say the price has gone up.
