Earbud confusion - what do I want?

Daughter broke the headset she was using, and I'd like to replace it.

Trouble is, I can't even find out what TYPE of headset it was (and it's been thrown out).

It had two small buds (earbuds I guess) connected by a thin metal over-the-head strip (like old-fashioned airplane headsets). The buds just sit slightly inside the ear held in the right position by the metal strip.

She does NOT want anything in-ear or in-canal nor anything on-ear or over-ear.

I was in OfficeWorks for other purposes and they have about 30 on-ear and over-ear sets, together with a smaller number number of in-ear and earbuds just connected by wire.

As these are mostly used for watching Stampy Longnose Minecraft videos, anyone familiar with his laugh will realise that sound quality is not really important, bit robustness is.

What keyword am I missing in my searches?

      • Ones with headband? I am not sure what you'd call them, that said those are more common on earphones designed sports and running.

I did just give you the image of a sennheiser one since those were what I had, but those ones are kinda uncomfortable (I had one, never liked them).

Or if you don't need the headband, open earphone would be what you'd need.

VE Monk is alright, USD $5 and fairly decent for its price.
EarPods are alright, though, I don't like how it sounds that much.

        • Yes - you've jogged my memory and now it all comes back to me..

These were the ones that have just broken

I didn't really like them myself (uncomfortable) but my daughter does.

          Thanks
