First Time You Used a 2k Monitor

My question is simple, what was your experience like with a 2k monitor (2560 x 1440), was it a big upgrade from what you were used to? which might've been 1080 monitor?

Can you go back to a 1080 monitor after using a 2k monitor?

Can you see the differences?

Do you play games on it? If so what gpu do you use to support it

What do you think about ultrascreens?

  • I was considering a AMVA 35" 2560x1080 monitor which Tom's Hardware maintains has the highest image quality of any monitor for gaming despite the low res due to massively better contrast.

It would be pretty bad the rest of the time though.

  • Porn is much better on a 2k monitor. I cant go back

    • Username checks out.

  • I got a Dell ultrasharp, feels better than the old TN display for a few reasons, higher res is just one.

I'd say the difference between 1080 and 1440 for a PC is marginal. Whereas 1080 is much better than 768 line.
FHD is enough to get all the text I want, but 1440-line makes the small fonts smoother. Its obvious if you see them side-by-side.
I suppose in a few years 4K displays will be standard, but I'm in no hurry.
